Sunday: Shootin Off Some Duds There Jackets
Hi everybody. For those of you who are of the christian religion or just celebrate Easter, happy Easter. Otherwise, happy Sunday to the rest of you. It's a sad day for me today. I was woken up to the news that a family member had passed away but I'm going to do this post because it's my duty, much like your job to vote on our website.
Before we get to the concepts, don't forget to vote for the first quarter (holy $%^& where did the time go!), the COTW Voting, and the Norfolk Admirals Top 3 voting.
To the Concepts!
Positives: Thank you for listening to us Anthony. Your concepts have turned out much better and I'm proud of you for that. I'll admit that you're playing right to my heart using the penguins "current" jersey design as the template for the primary jerseys, but the differences you made really give it its own feeling. As for the alternate, The upward "Canada" script with the maple leaf under it looks really good with the traditional design
Negatives: The maple leaves on the ends of the sleeves are a little excessive when you take into the fact that the logo has a maple leaf in it. Also, the reverse black and red on the sleeves of the dark jersey look a little awkward as well as that red captains "C".
Overall: 7.75/10
Positives: I am dying over here at how ugly this jersey is, but in a good way. The simple four stripe design actually works well on the sleeves and the bottom of the hem so I'd say that you could somewhat get away with it so it's not the worst design but it's close so good job?
Negatives: The extra four stripes on the chest is a little excessive. Also, that white collar isn't working. Also, the numbers look out of place on this jersey.
Overall: 7.75/10
Positives: After Matt Calvert decided to pull a Bo Jackson off of Tom Kuhnhackl's neck I'm a little bitter towards the Jackets right now but I'll put my bitterness aside for this concepts. The striping design is pretty good on the uniform as well as the blue pants.
Negatives: Good bit of mistakes here Garrett. First, not only are the logos on the shoulders too big but they aren't centered. Second, the numbers look really thin (not blaming you) and far apart so at least bring the a bit closer. Third, that script on the front of the jersey just isn't working.
Overall: 6/10
Positives: I'm going to take a stab at this and say that it has to do with the Islanders? if I'm correct, good job on the jersey. The simple design looks pretty good overall with the colors you chose.
Negatives: That huge square-ish collar isn't working well on this jersey and, overall, the design is a little bland for an ASG.
Overall: 8/10
Positives: Really nice looking design here Ryan. the traditional striping style with tat little accent of red on the jersey really pops on the jersey and keeping the red pants was a good decision.
Negatives: My only negative is that the red accent stripe on the sleeves and hem look a little skinny. Make it slightly thicker and this is perfect.
Overall: 8.75/10 COTW NOMINEE
Positives: Yay the hurricane flag design is back! really liking the overall striping design on this jersey. It's a good balance of a complex design but it doesn't over do it and it's very cohesive.
Negatives: Those numbers just aren't working on the jersey and possibly change the pants to red.
Overall: 8.5/10

No, my ASG concept was for the Oilers, hence the oil drop logos...
Love Burkus' Pens concept, but I gotta nominate Anthony
I'll 2nd Ryan C. for COTW, but yeah, aside from the similarities between Burkus's Concept and the Islanders alt, I actually really like it
Really sorry to hear about your loss Steve, thanks for taking the time to write up a post for us anyway.
