Monday: Smashville Abroad
Welcome to the Monday post!
I finally have something new to unveil as Nashville became the last of the 31 teams to unveil their Adizero kit with the final addition, the away jersey. Now to preface this I cannot stand their current yellow jersey. It is the most blatant and obvious case of a jersey where you need the gear for it to look good (you're off the hook, Anaheim away). This wouldn't bother me too much if the fact that most fans don't have navy shorts, yellow knee socks with a specific pattern on them, navy gloves and a navy helmet (if you do, congrats!)
Yeah so we're getting a lot more yellow here than any previous Nashville jersey, and I REALLY like how much there is. That yellow yoke looks fantastic, and while I wouldn't want to see a blue yoke on the yellow jersey, this is a good way to keep that yoke from being painfully bland. I will say though a lot of the previous issues with the Preds home continue here, such as the striping being too thin with the blue and the fact that the jersey still looks miles better with the gear than it foes on its own, and adds some needed blue not found outside the numbers. This does keep the Preds out of the league of the Caps and Sens for the worst jerseys in the league, but for those of you who dislike New Jersey's new kits then throw them in.
Rating: 6.75/10 (yellow is a 5/10)
What do you think? How much if at all does this improve on the Preds mediocre yellow jerseys? Does it save the look from being the worst in the NHL.
Voting for this week is just COTW, you know the drill, poll on the side of the blog!
Also don't forget to get your hockey card entries in for Friday, you've still got plenty of time and have had plenty of time for these, and from what I've seen so far this will be a tough competition to win
Here are today's entries:

Burkus Circus
FC Macbeth
Great stuff, again, Friday, Noon, Entries!
On with today's 4 concepts!

Vegas Golden Knights Concepts (By: Justin B.)
+ A lot of the good from the current jerseys are kept, such as the upper arm black and white numbers
+ Great idea adding the black to the white jersey
+ The new hem striping is a VAST improvement over the current one, I really like this
+ Ditto for angling the striping
+ Great execution
- Pants are a little too colourful for my taste, just a black pair with a logo would be great
Rating: 9.5/10 COTW Nom from me
Ottawa Senators 2007 Fix Concepts (By: Lucas D.)
+ I might be in the minority on this but I do not dislike this template...when a hem stripe is added
+ Nice addition of the extra arm...things under the numbers, reminds me of what the Barrie Colts had but not as overpowering
+ The good from the current jerseys are kept (numbers, logo choices)
+ Good execution
- Logos are quite pixelated
- Swap the black and red on the white jersey to help the colour balancing, that's one of the biggest problems with the current white jersey
- Wish there was some gear included on this to see how well the colours balance
Rating: 7.75/10
Calgary Flames Concepts (By: Phil B.)
+ The striping on the whit jersey reminds me of the '89 trainers' sweaters
+ Script logo looks fantastic in the original Flames colours
+ Nice work with the collars
+ Solid execution
- Would have been nice to get the mountain shoulder patch in the Flames colours
- I know why Phil chose that font, but the classic Flames font would look better imho
- I'm sure there's a reason for that hem stripe having the red part under it, but it's not my favourite design choice, the white jersey would look so much cleaner without it
Rating: 7.5/10
Ottawa Sensblacks CFL/NHL Crossover Concepts (By: Noah B.)
+ At first I was NOT a fan of the chest stripe, but with the numbers and logo, it does a solid job of replicating the REDBLACKS jerseys while paying tribute to the Sens
+ Sens logo on the shoulder actually works because of the colour scheme being so similar
+ Fantastic execution, I don't have much to say on this but it's only because how clean it is
- One thing I would have like to see would be a lumberjack pattern somewhere on the jersey like the REDBLACKS had on their Reebok alternates
- Similar to the REDBLACKS aways, some red under the black striping would balance the colours better
Rating: 9/10
