Sunday: Thinning Out

Good afternoon everyone! Welcome back. Don't have any news today regarding hockey because it's that time of year where everything is getting slow. That usually means less concepts so let's just dive right in to the four that I have. Before we do, I have a few things to tell you guys. First, Ryan's network was down and wasn't able to make a post yesterday so he apologizes for that. Second, Don't forget that you need to vote for COTW and don't forget you have 5 days left to get your entries in for the hockey card comp.

COTW VOTE
ENTRIES FOR CARDS COMP DUE AUG 11

Let's do this!

Chris W- Kunlun Redstar
Positives: I always appreciate how detail oriented you are with you concepts Chris and this continues it. First off, thank you for using the correct jersey manufacturer. Second, the brick design to represent the Great Wall of China was a great choice for this jersey design because it's simple but that brick design gives it that personal touch. Even the numbers with the drop shadow fit really well. Overall great design!
Negatives: My only negative of this design is how you didn't do anything with the pants. A simple red stripe would have been nice.
Overall: 9.5/10 COTW NOMINEE!

Justin B- Vancouver Canucks
Positives: What I really think works for this design is that you take the upper stripe on the jersey and bring it down to form the "V" on the arms as a homage to the original jersey design. It also looks really good on the pants.
Negatives: It's really plain and looks like it's been done so many times on this website that it doesn't differentiate itself from the others that I've graded in the past. Do Something different with the crest. Change up the primary color to green. Do something that would actually draw my attention to instead of thinking "oh, another Canucks concept."
Overall: 7/10

Noah B- Philadelphia Eagles
Positives: I think your cross-over series is doing really good right now Noah and this is another example. The choices of where to put the colors looks great on this and I think you scored big time with the Flyers jersey template.
Negatives:  What is that thing under the left forearm of the dark jersey? Make sure you don't miss anything before sending it in.
Overall: 7/10 Execution mistake

Sebastian B- First Concept (Toronto Maple Leafs)
Positives: Only Positives here is the arm striping on the dark jersey.
Negatives: Where do I begin? Your numbers and shoulder logos are incorrectly placed. the chest logo is too big, the back numbers are too big and the TV numbers are too small. This is just a train wreck overall. I get that this is one of your first concepts but please ask for help or do some studying before you send something in like this. We're here to help Sebastian!
Overall: 2/10

That's everything I got for you guys. As some of you may have seen, I did not speak about the Predators away jerseys. Well, I'll leave that up to my fellow writers because they could explain it in a much better way but all I'll say is that I've found a close second to what Nashville has done to their uniforms from a certain Pittsburgh college hockey team. See y'all next week.

That's the stick on the template. It's been on all of my concepts.
I'll second Chris for COTW.

I think the thing your refering to on Noahs Eagles concept is the blade of the hockey stick from the white jersey

Now I see what you're talking about. Should've checked that out before I sent it.
