Thursday: No New News
Wow, nothing new to report on, what a shocker. While there have been a few new things to emerge recently, they've already been covered here within the last few days.
I will say, though, Nashville's new road jerseys are miles better than the home jerseys, mainly because the yokes make them look much less plain. They're still far from being a great look, though. Hopefully they look better in full context of the uniform. I will also say that I think they look much better when laid out on a flat template, although that doesn't matter much since they won't be laid out like that while they're being used.

This week in voting all we have is the COTW vote, but the hockey card competition also ends its submission stage at noon tomorrow so get those entries in!

Ben S. - Nashville Predators
+I like the unique, modern take on Nashville.
+I also like how it takes influence from Nashville's new jerseys and ties into their current branding.
+A thinner than usual upper arm fill works well for the Preds, and I like the use of the 3 stars in said area.
-I think the stars are borderline distracting as you have them. Maybe my opinion would change once I saw these used on the ice, but I think they would look better as a (possibly sublimated) darker blue.
-Especially if you make the stars more subtle, a shoulder patch would fit very well.
-Really not sure why you have the arched "Nashville" and "Predators" over the logo, but I don't like it at all. I don't like Vancouver doing it either, even though they have inspiration behind it.
+Love the yellow helmets.
Overall: 8.5/10 and my COTW nomination

+I always love designs that have a lot of inspiration and thought behind them, so I like to see the thought that was put into this one.
+As I've said before flag striping often works well, and this is no exception.
-Not exactly a groundbreaking idea, though.
-The back numbers and the captain's patch look a bit small.
-I'd like the see the rest of the gear to get the full picture of the uniform.
-Overall, the design is a bit too simple for my liking, something to spice it up a bit would help.
+The black fits well into this design, especially to make sure that the numbers contrast on the chest stripe.
-I think a white outline on the numbers (and maybe even the name) would be a big help to make sure they definitely contrast well enough.
-I think the front logo would look a lot better if you ditched the shield. According to a quick Google search, the coat of arms does not require the shield around it, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Overall: 7/10

+/- See the first batch of comments on your last concept, the ones that I italicized? They also apply to this concept.
+I will say, though, that I like the slight edit to the flag striping widths.
+This is still a very simple and basic look, but a bit less so than the previous concept.
+For a red, green, and white color scheme, you do a good job of making sure this doesn't give off a Christmas vibe.
+The colors are balanced well.
Overall: 7.5/10
Lucas D. - Montréal Canadiens
+I like the idea of using the Habs' road jersey striping as a chest stripe, which would also fit the Habs' identity well.
-Personally, I think this pattern would look a lot better on a white jersey, rather than a blue or even a red one.
+I do like the use of an alternate color for an alternate jersey, though.
-The proportions on the stripes are also wrong; the middle white stripe is supposed to be the same widths as the red and blue. If this change was an intentional design choice, then ignore this comment, because it still works just fine.
-The back numbers is almost too hard to decipher, a thicker blue outline would help that.
-I also really don't understand the choice to put the numbers in the striping, it almost seems as though it was forced in there. They would be much easier to see if they were above the stripes on the arms, or even on the shoulders.
Overall: 8/10
Noah B. - Pittsburgh Pengrates
+Another solid combination of the hockey and, in this case baseball, identity.
+Staying faithful to the Pirates' striping while using the Pens' upper arm pattern is a good way to combine the two teams.
-Not a fan of not using the upper arm design on the dark jersey, though.
+The Pirates typeface fits much better on this concept than any Pens' one would, especially considering what the chest logo is.
-For a while, I was thinking that this doesn't really remind me enough of the Penguins, and in a way, the Pirates as well, but I couldn't pinpoint why. I later realized that I think the issue is the color balancing. The Penguins and Pirates both make a much greater use of yellow than you do here, and it looks like more than just an accent color (that especially shows for the Pirates on this uniform). On this set, the yellow looks a lore more like an accent color than it does as a primary color. Fix that, and I think you're golden (pun totally intended).
Overall: 8/10
