Wednesday: Back to Normal (Again)
Hello HJC readers. Again it's good to be back, hopefully blogger will stop thinking this site is spam. Sorry if my comments are a bit shorter than normal, I'm just trying to get this post up at a decent time.

There are three votes going on right now. Remember, anyone can vote.
4th Quarter Vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm EST)
COTW Jan 7-13 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm EST)
B-Sens Top 5 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm EST)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Toronto Maple Leafs (by WinnipegJets96)
Here WinnipegJets96 makes some minor changes to the leafs uniforms, basically bringing back their pre-edge uniforms. Personally I think their current uniforms are better. There is also nothing unique or interesting done here. 6/10
Wyoming Rough Riders (by STL Snake)
I like the striping and colour scheme for the home and road, but the black logo looks out of place. The third jersey looks good on it's own, but it also doesn't seem to fit with the home and road. 7/10
Team Latvia (by Steven G)
I wanted Latvia's flag to be the main focus of this concept. I used the flag as the sleeve and hem striping on the white jersey. For the dark jersey, I basically made the whole jersey one big flag.
Tampa Bay Lighting (by WinnipegJets96)
Many people want the Lightning to add another colour to their jerseys, like the silver on this concept. My concern with this concept is the striping pattern, there isn't anything unique about it. Try adding victory stripes, and tweak the striping so it has more character. 7/10
New York Islanders (by Bastian S.)
I've really been enjoying all the concepts by Bastain lately. The execution, presentation, and ideas are all top notch. This orange third jersey for the Islanders is no different. The colours really stand out, and the striping has character. Why couldn't the Islanders do something like this last year? 8/10
Chicago Blackhawks (by WinnipegJets96)
This concept has what WinnipegJets96's two previous concepts were missing, uniqueness and character. Making the middle stripe the same colour as the jersey makes it more unique, and putting the secondary logo on the sleeve stripes (like the Blckhawks 1957-59 jerseys) adds character. 8/10
Hershey Bears (by Justin C.)
This very simple, retro concept is what Justin wants the Bears to wear for their Outdoor Classic (here are the actual jerseys they'll wear). It's a very good concept, just in my opinion the actual jersey has more character. Using cream as the base colour does look quite good for the Bears though. 8/10
Pittsburgh Penguins (by Kyle C.)
This jersey looks to be inspired by the Lemieux era, but with lots of changes to the striping. I like those changes, it makes this something new, but it still draws from the Penguins best era. If I had any suggestions, it would be to add more yellow to the socks and hem. 8/10
Detroit Red Wings (by Bastian S.)
This would be a great Winter Classic jersey for the Red Wings. It draws inspiration from their past, has some great unique elements, and just simply looks great. I have no complaints at all. I only will give 10/10's for concepts that are perfect, plus have some sort of hidden meaning (or something else spectacular), but I'll give this a COTW nomination and a 9.9/10.

Justin C.'s Bears concept for COTW
Agreed on Bears concept for COTW
The black logo is THE logo of both the University of Wyoming and the OFFICIAL state logo as well! It's meant to represent them both, as well as Wyoming's rich cowboy history. How else is a logo like that supposed to look?? Also the 3rd jersey ISN'T meant to go along with the regular jerseys identically! That's the POINT of almost all 3rd jerseys! The logo is the same as the WY state flag obviously! I don't know what's happened to make you so critical lateley, or maybe Ryan's just not giving you the descriptions along with the jerseys, but I think you should go out of your way to be a little more kinder in your comments and deliver more construcitve advice when you critique our work! I thought the point of this site was to be less critical and more approving than the other sites out there!?
@STLSnake: The idea of the site is to CRITIQUE every concept. Whether you love it, hate it, the writers have to have an opinion on the jerseys. Nothing is meant as a personal attack. Check out the most recent podcast (yesterday's post) as I cover this type of thing there.
Also, I've been saying for a while that if there is any info that you need relayed to the readers it has to go ON your concepts. That might be covered in the podcast as well. I can't remember. That info has also been on the ABOUT/CONTACT HJC page for a while.
Well I'm sorry, but I thought that the descriptions would also get forwarded along w/the concepts as well. I don't know how you're running things over there,(I know you've got a new baby and less time) but it just seems to me like Steve's getting these things without knowing anything about them. Also I don't bother to listen to the podcasts, mainly cause I don't feel like taking the time, but I guess I'll have to then from now on to keep myself informed. Also I hadn't read the About page since Steve first took over, so I guess I forgot. BTW Ryan, my name is Chris. I thought you remembered me.
Actually, I don't want to single out Steve, I just saw that he happened to be the writer today. I meant the writers in general, but whatever. Thanks for letting me know and sorry if I'm complaining, but I just thought I'd state my opinions. You can take it or leave it.
@STL Snake: Most logos are the same colour scheme as the jersey. Same with third jerseys. That was the point I was trying to make.
Second Bastian's Wings concept
@STLsnake: I still run the blog. The guys do the posts on the weekdays.
You're not required to listen to the podcasts. I was just saying that is where you could find the information on this occasion which will help you understand how things run here.
Now, moving on... Justin C.'s Hershey concept for COTW!!!
OK thanks Ryan. Steve, no harm done and no offense taken. Like I said, I didn't mean to single you out. I appreciate the critique, but it just seems like everyone's gotten a little too critical on here lateley for some reason, or maybe it's just me. Anyway, I don't mean to complain, I just need to pay a little more attention to things and be less critical of other's critiquing! :)
I just found your site & am enjoying it tremendously. I would love to see Latvia's logo ob the jersey they used in the 2002 olympics
