Saturday: This is my post. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Today's post is going to be a bit abbreviated. I've been incapacitated for the majority of the day with a massive migraine. It's unrelated to USA men's hockey, but when my wife woke me up to tell me the final score of USA vs. Finland, it didn't exactly improve my health, either. I apologize if my writing is odd. My medication for migraines can make me loopy.

Minnesota Wild concept - TG

What I like: The striping pattern and yoke are inspired by the Wild's new away jersey, which I think looks brilliant. The jersey manages to avoid the "Christmas colors" trap. Execution is clean.

What I dislike: I prefer my Wild in green. I wouldn't mind a red alternate, but I hope the Wild come out with a green home jersey that matches the new white jersey, get rid of their current alternate, and call it day. A solidified look from them would be great.

Overall: Nothing to complain about here, other than a color preference. (8.3/10)

Bloomington Thunder concept - Mike S.

What I like: This shade of purple works really well. It's a criminally underutilized color in the NHL, now that the Kings have forsaken it. I like the arm/yoke/sock striping

What I dislike: I'm not sure how I feel about the chest striping. The striping helps hide the fact that Bloomington's logo is round at the top and flat at the bottom (plus, it distracts from a very . It looks good on the front, but on the back, it's not as effective. The interference with the numbers nags at me a little, but it's not a huge problem.

Overall: SPHL teams need more professional-looking jerseys like this. (8/10)

Geneva Servette concepts - Simon B.

What I like: The striping patterns aren't bad. I really like the Tampa Bay-style victory stripes.

What I dislike: Floating stripes and logos off the jersey doesn't look very good. Two different reds are used in some areas. There are loose pixels and pixels that have not been properly recolored throughout the jerseys. You need to put some form of identification on your jersey, so others cannot potentially take credit for your designs.

Overall: There are some good elements here, but execution needs some work (5/10)

Columbus Blue Jackets concept - Dallas K.

What I like: Hey. Guess what? I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more canon. The current Blue Jacket primary logo fits well as a shoulder patch.

What I dislike: I hoped to never see that electric yellow bug again. That color is just too harsh. Some aspects of the canon are lost when reduced to one color. I prefer the jersey on the left, but the striping should be thinner. 

Overall: Jersey on the left: (7.8) Jersey on the right: (6/10)

Hockeyfying the NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers concept - Gerard M.

What I like: With this series, I thought Pittsburgh's look would translate well to a hockey jersey. The striping pattern, logo, and fonts all make the transition well.

What I dislike: For color balance sake, I would add more black to the white jersey. 

Overall: The Steelers show once again that the older NFL team jerseys would look even better in hockey. (8.5/10)

Hockeyfying the NFL: San Diego Chargers concept - Gerard M.

What I like: The lightning bolt looks great as a shoulder patch. I especially like the striping on the dark jersey. 

What I dislike: Gerard doesn't have much to work with here as far as logos are concerned. The Chargers' primary is used on their shoulders, and would look bad on the front of a hockey jersey. Although this one looks dated, and doesn't fit as well some of the other elements of the jersey, there's not much to choose from here. 

Overall: A better logo would improve the set, but looking at the Chargers' logos, Gerard may have had to create his own for that to happen. (7.5/10)

Hockeyfying the NFL: St. Louis Rams concept - Gerard M.

Overall: The striping pattern looks like something the Rams would wear. That font looks really good on a hockey jersey. I might have to look at some NFL fonts if I ever get time to do more concepts. Some of these look really great. 

What I dislike: I would like to see what Gerard could do with the old color scheme. I just like the jerseys from "The Greatest Show on Turf" era so much better.

Overall: Good jersey designs for the Rams. (8/10)

Brooklyn Islanders concept - Christian L.

What I like: I like Christian's creativity here. I always appreciate when an artist branches out to create their own logo. 

What I dislike: Three different shades of blue are used on the jerseys and logos. The league doesn't really need another blue/yellow team. The Predators, Blues, and Sabres have that covered. The logo, from far away, looks like a dragonfly to me. 

Overall: Christian shows some good originality here, but a few changes need to be made before it's ready for prime time. (7.5/10)

Little East Conference series: Bridgewater State U. concept - Jeff H.

What I like: From what I can tell, BSU doesn't have a hockey team, so these would be introductory sweaters. The logo isn't bad. The striping is ok for a smaller college, but not particularly interesting.

What I dislike: If I were going to introduce a hockey team in Massachusetts with a bear head logo, I would make some sweaters with a Bruins-style look to them to appeal to those fans. According to the LEC's website, BSU isn't in the LEC?

Overall: It's not a bad set, but a less template-esque design would make them more interesting (7/10)

Little East Conference series: Western Connecticut State U. concept - Jeff H.

What I like: These sweaters would also be an introductory set for WCSU. The striping pattern font, usage, and colors are great. 

What I dislike: Striping thickness varies with the sleeves/hem/socks. (side note: That logo looks like George Washington, if he was part gorilla.)

Overall: This would make a great introductory set for WCSU. (7.8/10)

Team Slovenia concept - Stephen T.

What I like: Execution here is pretty clean.

What I dislike: In an Olympic tournament full of red/white/blue sets, Slovenia's green is refreshing. I don't want to see that go. The striping here is very similar to Russia. This set just doesn't stand out like what Slovenia currently wears. Nike designed so many jerseys that looked too similar. Did anyone watch USA vs. Slovakia? It looked like an inter-squad scrimmage. I would move the primary logo to the left side, above the heart, and bring the green back. 

Overall: This would be step back in my opinion, because you lose what makes Slovenia unique. (7/10)

Arizona Coyotes concept - Steve M.

What I like:  I'm looking forward to more Arizona Coyotes concepts in the coming months. I like the striping pattern on the alternate jersey. That Southwest Native American-style striping is something that the Coyotes should bring back to give them a more unique set. The sand color would make an interesting away jersey

What I dislike: The logos used here are better suited to alternate duty. The name and numbers used on the back are too large. I've never liked the Coyotes in black, and the NHL doesn't need anymore black alternates. There are loose pixels in some areas, especially around the collars.

Overall: Apply the striping pattern from the alternate to the home/away jerseys, size down the fonts, take out the black, and change the logos. (6/10)
