Saturday: Sprint to the Finish
The winner of the final COTW vote for 2015 was Jake M.
Congrats to Jake on his 4th COTW of 2015. Through the entire week it was a very close race between Jake and Taylor. I expect the remainder of the 2015 votes to be just as close from here on out.
The winner of the December vote moves into the 4th Quarter Vote. Once we have a winner there, we will commence with the 2015 Concept of the Year Semi-Finals, followed by the Final. The sprint to the finish line is on!
The first set of 2016 COTW nominees have been listed on the side of the page in the black poll. Nine concepts were properly nominated and seconded, so that means those concepts that were thirded or more will be in the vote. You can see the concepts by clicking the link in the poll or by going to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK page. For those with a Google account, voting ends on Friday at 11:59pm Eastern time.
Just as a FYI, for 2016 and beyond the monthly votes will no longer be referred to as "COTY-Month". I figured the monthly votes are for the weekly winners, so we'll use the COTW to denote a monthly vote. (ie "COTW - January" vote) We'll leave the COTY letters for the actual semi-finals and final vote next January.
For those of you wondering why we don't place all nine concepts that received proper nominating into the COTW vote, it is to decrease the possibilities of ties. With a large COTW field, votes theoretically will be spread out creating the chance of ties. As well, if a concept is thirded and fourthed and so on, it should perform better in the COTW vote than a concept that was only seconded.
A new year of COTW also means new marks. Check them out and let me know what you think...
The winner of the Gatineau Olympiques ReDesign was J3!
With the win, J3's entry will be in the COTW vote this week, as you have already seen.
J3's winning entry will be the last competition winner to feature that badge on the concept. I liked the 2015 COTW marks so much that I have made it into the new competition winner badge.
We'll hold off on a new competition until later in the week or next Saturday. Again, I'd love to hear what you guys would like to do. I've got some ideas, but I want to know what would get your creative juices flowing. Leave some comments.
I've noticed there are a few people who have been trying to nominate concepts for COTW, but they do not have a Google account. You require a Google account to nominate concepts for COTW. This rule is in place to prevent people from anonymously nominating their own concepts for the vote. If you have a Gmail, YouTube, or Blogger account then that's a Google account.
Final Results
Jake M. (CLE) - 12
Taylor R. (ATL) - 11
Ryan C. (PIT) - 7
Taylor R. (SJ) - 3

That J3 guy obviously named himself after me. Why, I don't know.
Honestly, I'm happy I voted for Jake. Definitely deserved it much more than I.
I have a *SLIGHT* feeling (exaggeration) that the last part was intended to be directly addressed to me... I HONESTLY DIDN'T KNOW!!!
Sorry.
GO JACKETS!!! GO MONSTERS!!! GO BUCKS!!!
