HJC Jersey Winner
A couple of votes are ending today. They are listed below.
If you go to the links at the bottom of the TEMPLATES page you will find that you're now able to download the team numbers and blank templates files directly on to your computer. No more blurry pixels from Photobucket, yay!
Now the big news of the day. The winner of the HJC Jersey Competition is Brandon C! The results of the incredibly close vote are below.
I usually save my vote for last and in this instance if I had used that vote to vote for myself it would have caused a 3-way tie. Instead, I liked Brandon's concept enough to vote for it thus making him the winner. I will get the process of creating this jersey started immediately and within the next few days price and ordering info will be posted.
As I promised after Phase 1, here are the full results of that vote.
Tampa Bay Lightning concepts (by Kirk)
Kirk wanted the Bolts to look less like the Leafs. So he made them look like the Buccaneers. This could use shoulder patches and TV numbers. Also, half of the collar is green inside the white jersey. This would be a neat idea for a minor league team in the Tampa area. 3/10
Heritage Classic concepts (by NB14)
I really think the Sens jersey here is top notch, except for the big white hem. To me, the Leafs jersey has too many stripes (subtract a couple). I can tell it's a re-coloured Pens jersey. Otherwise, execution seems pretty good. 7/10
"Buffalo Sabres" concept (by John T.)
This isn't really a concept, but more of what John's hockey team will look like. He took advantage of River City Sports' Buffa-slug jersey blowout and bought enough for a whole team set. He's then using the 90's Sabres numbering for the jerseys (with gold trim) and the current socks. Hopefully John sends in on-ice photos when the time comes.
Buffalo Sabres concept (by Brandon C.)
This one isn't for me. I think the Voyageurs' design would be better suited for the Buffa-slug. I also don't care for the hem stripes forming a V. Execution is solid though. 5/10
TCI logo concept (by Brandon S.)
Brandon was asked to create a 5th anniversary logo for his team and was looking for some feedback. It looks good, but I don't think that the Thrashers' font sticks out enough. Something bolder may be better. Also, wouldn't it be the team's 5th season and not their 5th anniversary? 7/10
St. Louis Blues concepts (by Matt D.)
These are good Edge concepts that connect well with the pre-Edge jerseys. However, because there is so much of the lighter blue on the home jersey I seem to want to see some more of it on the road jersey. Execution would be great, but it seems that an appropriate jersey cut has not been used and the jersey has just been drawn underneath a generic template cut. 7/10
Ottawa Senators concepts (by Kyle C.)
These are great. Way better than what they wear now. They would be perfect if the updated side profile logo was used, in my opinion. The fit the Sens so well that I didn't really notice that the Kings' font was used until I posted this. 8/10
Zapotec Totems concept (by Jose)
This is an actual team in an actual Mexican pro hockey league (Liga Mexicana Élite). The real team uses pre-Edge Sharks sweaters. Jose's concept is much better, and cooler. The execution here is really great! 8/10
Anaheim Ducks concepts (by Justin)
The Ducks should have taken a cue from the CeHL's Quad City Mallards. Justin did and he used their marks to create this awesome Ducks' set. I really like how he has altered a logo to make it a Ducks' shoulder patch and not just used all Mallards stuff and called it the Ducks. COTW nom from me! 9/10

Just a few words about my logo:
1. I guess it's not technically a fifth "anniversary" but it is also not a "season" due to the fact that this is just a spring team that only goes to a single tournament in may.
2. The use of the thrashers font is because it is what was used last year seen here:

3. I would really appreciate any feedback I can get :)
Congrats Brandon, well deserved! I can't wait to see how it comes out.
