Hello Everyone. This
is my (Steven G's) phase 2 post for HJC.
This post is a list of my top 5 favourite jerseys in the NHL right now, which seems fitting since the predecessor to HJC was The Hockey Lister. Anyways, I guess you can say I'm a
traditionalist, 3 of my top 5 jerseys are from original six teams. Although I like some modern jerseys too (including the Jets, Capitals, and Wild road), but they would only make my top ten.
5. Boston Bruins (home jersey)

I'm a Canucks fan so I dislike the Boston Bruins, but I have to admit they have great jerseys. These jerseys just look intimidating, although that might have something to do with the players who wear them. I really like their bold shoulder yokes, with the white stripe in them. Their spoke-B logo is a classic and adding serifs to it in 2007 made it even better. I also like the yellow socks that go with this jersey.
4. Montreal Canadiens (home jersey)

The Montreal Canadiens are the oldest NHL team, and they've basically had the same jersey since before they were in the NHL. Their logo is classic, and the chest-stripe still looks great almost 100 years after it was first used. Their road jersey is good too, but it wasn't good enough to make my top 5. One thing I dislike though is how their pants and helmets are a lighter shade of blue than what's on the jerseys. This jersey would be even higher on this list if that was fixed.
3. New Jersey Devils (home jersey)

The Devils are the youngest team on this list at just 30
years old. They've had their current
logo since day one, which I think is one of the very best in the NHL. It features an N, a J, a D, a hockey stick, devil horns and a devil tail. I also like
their extra-wide number font, unique shoulder yokes, and simple striping
pattern. These jerseys will probably be around for a long time with Lou Lamoriello in charge (unless the
Devils move).

Another traditional team, the Flyers have also had their logo since day one.
Another thing they've always had are full length sleeve stripes. I really like their current home jersey, the
bright orange really stands out from the rest of the league, and their contrasting name-bars look great. Although I don't like the contrasting name-bars on their road jersey, since they don't make sense historically.
1. Chicago Blackhawks (home jersey)

Another team that I really dislike, but they have my favourite hockey jersey.
There isn't anything I would change about the Blackhawks home
jersey. I love the striping, and even the
colourful logos. The retro-ish number font
also looks good. I don't have much else to say about this jersey except that it looks amazing.
Do you agree or disagree with my top five? Leave your thoughts (or your own top five) in
the comments. Also thank you to Ryan for this great opportunity.

Great post Steven! Number 1 is a no brainier as well as the Habs home jersey. I'm suprised this is the first time it was in someone's top 5. The other picks are good, just not in my top 5. Regardless, good writing. I hope you make the next cut.
