Thursday: NHL, KHL, and more!

Hello everybody, hope you've had a great Thursday so far. In NHL news, the NHL and NHLPA met yesterday in an undisclosed location for the first time since last week's roller coaster of emotions and optimism. Hopefully they can get something going, and not have it crash and burn like it has the last few times.

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl KHL concept (By: E.Awad)

We all know the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl because of the tragic plane crash that killed it's whole team back in September of 2011. Tragedy aside, I really like these. The collar, striping, logos, everything looks pretty good. My only complaint would be a lack of red on the white jersey. Maybe add it under the stripes like the socks, but I think it needs more red. Execution is amazing, props for taking time to put the ads on the jersey and the 07.09 patch is a really nice touch. 9/10

Minnesota Wild concept (By: Matt L.)

There is just too much going on here. I count at least 5 or 6 colors. There is also a ton of execution errors. Too point out a few, the jerseys need TV numbers, the red jersey needs a name on the back. Back to the design, side panels never work in my opinion. Just go with the striping, get rid of black. Find a different font (I don't think either of them work good here). Look at the "PAINT.net TUTORIALS" page for some tips on how to make this look a lot better. 4/10

Donbass Donetsk KHL (By: E.Awad)

Another really sweet KHL concept from E.Awad here. The bruins yoke really works here. The only thing I don't like is the lack of black on the white jersey. Add some black under the arm stripes (like the hem stripes). Once again, great job with the ads. The socks need to be fixed to match the jersey better. 8/10

Channel Islands Riptide concept (By: Kyle C.)

Apparently these are for Kyle's brother's team in California. I was able to find the website for the team, see it here. Anyway, I LOVE these. The striping and yokes are perfect. The alternate is really cool and classic too. Maybe these could work as throwbacks for the LA Kings? On an execution note, you need to delete the NHL logo on the collar insert. Other then that, I love these! 9/10

 Winnipeg Jets concept (By: Alan H.)

I like these and they are very unique. The light blue seems out of place to me on the home jersey. No other complaints from me. The logos and alternate jersey are pretty cool as well. 7/10

Minnesota Wild concept (By: Andrew G.)

Here is our second and final Minnesota Wild concept of the day. This one I like a lot better. Based off of the Wild's current alternate jersey, but with an added road jersey to go with it. I would love for the Wild to go somewhere in this direction. Execution-wise these jerseys need TV numbers and names on the back. Also, the word "Reebok" should be on the back under the collar instead of the Reebok logo. I like the recoloring of the logos. Some type of shoulder patch would be nice too. 7/10

Colorado Rockies concept (By: Steven G.)

We saw this concept originally last Friday, but last time it's main color was yellow. It is now red and I love it! If the Rockies were too ever come back, these would HAVE to be their uniforms. The logos are all great. The chest stripes, collar, and everything are perfect here. 9/10 and a COTW nom from me
