Saturday: Canada Day
Happy Canada Day! It's kind of a big deal here as Canada turns 150 today. I'm celebrating with family and a backyard BBQ. Of course there will be fireworks later tonight. All in celebration of Canada, and in all seriousness I am incredibly fortunate to have be born and lived here.
For our American readers, my next post will be after the 4th of July so make sure to have just as much fun as I am having with the people that are important in your life. And stay safe.

The COTW nominees for June 23-29 have been listed on the side of the page. If you are logged into a Google account the poll will appear for you and you will have until Friday at noon Eastern time to place your vote.
The voters have spoken and here are the results of the top 16 that will advance into the bracket portion of the HJC Open.
The 16 artists are now seeded based on the following criteria
1. Number of COTW wins in 2017 (weekly, quarterly, monthly)
2. Numbers of votes in the Round Robin
3. Coin toss
And here is how the brackets look:
The 16 artists now have until Tuesday at noon to submit their entry. I hope to have voting up late Tuesday night, which will conclude on Friday.
I think some artists may be taking the writers' ratings a little too seriously these days. I don't ask the writers to do ratings, they just choose to do them. Every writer rates differently and that's what makes having a writing team great. We get a different view each day.
As for comments left on each post, I love comments! Everyone should also try to remember that comments are that person's opinion. Also when leaving comments you should remember that it is just your opinion and that doesn't make it fact or fiction...just your opinion.
This coming week I challenge all readers to leave a comment and tell us not only your COTW nomination, but also which concept from the bunch is the worst. Be sure to tell us why it's the worst and maybe a tip or two on how the artist can improve.

I've gotta admit, I'm a little disappointed with the results of the Round Robin, but I guess you won't get many votes if your entry doesn't send until two days after the start of the voting.
On another note, congrats to Anthony on your second COTW win!
Man, lost on a coin toss...too many puns in the podcast I guess...
Anyways, congrats Anthony on the COTW win, and good luck to the 16 in the HJC Open!
