Sunday: Taking Over
Hello everyone and welcome back to another Thurs- wait...wrong day.
Hello everyone, this is your Thursday writer, Brendan. I have taken over the blog, and now I can write whatever I want, on whatever day I want, and nobody can stop me. On that note, all your concepts suck, you all get a 0/10, and I proclaim myself to be the one and only God of Concepts, from now on only refer to me as your highness.

Anthony C. - Philadelphia Flyers
+This is an idea that I'm sure has been seen before, but it's still a good idea, and you executed it well, especially with the hem striping.
+Whether intentional or coincidental, the subtle callback to the Quakers adds an extra layer of meaning to a design like this.
+Good color balance.
+I think there could be better options, but that number font surprisingly works fairly well.
-The name looks a tad large.
-I'm not sure I like the white collar. It stands out in a bad way. I'd just make it black to blend in with the yoke.
Overall: 9/10 and my COTW nomination
Dino W. - Belgium
+Flag striping. An original idea by no means, but with simple Flags like that, it often works.
-Keep the thicknesses the same on the arms and hem.
-The vertical stitching should also stop at the hem striping.
+Good logo choice when it comes to historical significance (according to your annotation).
-I'm not sure I'm a fan of the logo in general, though. The circle is really small with the extra embellishments, and I would probably remove the sticks and crown and just go with the roundel.
-The back numbers look a tad small and too low, and the C patch looks a bit small.
-It'd be nice to see the equipment.
Overall: 7.5/10
Jets96 - Norfolk Admirals
+Personally, I'm a fan of their new color scheme, but for what you're going for on this concept ("Saving the Primary Colors"), you've done a good job of it.
+The key to a color scheme like this is proper color balance, and here you've done a good job. The white jersey is beginning to borderline having red and blue compete, but the blue pants should fix that issue.
-I'm not really sure why you made the hem stripes slightly inconsistent to the arms. Just drop that yellow stripe to touch the bottom stripe and you'll be fine.
-This one could end up going either way, but I'm wondering if the white jersey would look better/cleaner without the shoulder yoke.
-This one is probably just personal preference, but I've never been a fan of that logo. I'd have just recolored their new logo.
+I do like seeing part of said logo on the shoulders, though.
Overall: 8/10
Lucas D. - Carolina Hurricanes
+I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a fauxback, or just a normal alternate jersey, but I think it works either way.
-Though if it is intended as a fauxback, I think it is starting to lean a bit too far towards the modern side.
+I love that logo. I think it could use a bit of refining still, and I don't think it would work as the team's primary logo, but the subtle nods to the Whalers are excellent.
+Speaking of Whalers influence, you've done a good job of taking this design and converting it to a working design for the Hurricanes, and without taking from the Whalers too directly.
-You're really walking a fine line here when it comes to taking from Hartford too directly, though.
-Very minor detail, but I think the pentagon on the collar should be white. That's probably just personal preference, though, I just like the look of when there's the look of a complete collar.
-Presentation detail: The hem stripes on the realistic template should be slightly curved. See: this example from the template's creator himself, just for clarification.
Overall: 8.5/10
T.C. Moore - Sherbrooke Phoenix
+Sherbrooke pulls of a double blue and cream color scheme well, so I'm glad you kept that intact.
-I think you have a bit too much light blue on the light jersey compared to dark blue, though. Maybe filling the dark blue all the way down the hem would help.
+I like the reversal of the logo colors for each jersey.
+The alternate jersey is definitely the best of this concept, if you ask me.
-I'm not a fan of that secondary logo, though. I had originally thought you created it yourself and was going to criticize a few things, including the arrangement of the letters in the "PHOENIX" diagonal script. Considering that, I'd go with this one on the alternate jersey, considering the fauxback vibe they both share (except get rid of the gold trim or replace it with another color).
Overall: 7.5/10
T.C. Moore - Vancouver Giants
+The simple, bold striping on this concept works pretty well.
-I think it would be just that much better though if you matched the logo to the striping (black large stripe with a white, red, and gray outline, in that order) and then flip the colors for the black jersey.
+That secondary logo is a bit unnecessary for a primarily Canadian hockey league if you ask me, but since it's part of their brand, I really like the way you incorporated it.
-I'd have left the colors the same on said logo for the black jersey, and had it as just a solid red leaf in the white stripe.
+That logo also makes for a great helmet logo, so good decision to use it there.
-The logo looks a bit too large to me.
-I'm not a big fan of that font for the Giants. I just don't think it fits with their look.
-This can go for your last concept as well, and this may just be my personal opinion, but I'm not a big fan of that jersey template. The proportions just look a bit awkward if you ask me.
Overall: 7.75/10

I'll second Anthony's Flyers design for COTW. And BPoe, you'll be happy to know that I've ditched that template.
