Sunday: A Work In Progress
Howdy Everybody. Didn't have time to get any news together so we're just going to hop right into the concepts today.
But first, I'd like to say to Chase that it was a pleasure to write with him and I wish him the best. All that said, if you think you have the chops to make it as a writer then fill out and application and see if you make it!
Okay onto the concepts!
Negatives: The white hem doesn't look that good with the red and yellow. Also, it's really hard to read the name on the back of both jerseys.
Overall: 6.5/10
Negatives: It would look a lot better if it was rounded instead of an angle but it's not a total loss for me. What is a total loss is your names on the back of the jerseys.
Overall: 7/10
Negatives: The striping is pretty similar to other things you've sent into us on this template. If I'm going to be honest with you, don't expect me to give you any extra points on using this template if you're just going to recycle striping on it. You've come far in your designing but quantity doesn't equal quality.
Overall: 7.5/10
Negatives: It has more to do with the template than anything. the collar faux laces on a Nike jersey are all within the yoke. Also, This template makes the nameplate look really small.
Overall: 8.5/10 COTW NOMINEE
Negatives: The yoke on the green jersey is so similar in color that it just looks muddy. Also, the striping could be a tad thicker.
Overall: 7.5/10
Negatives: This is, in general, a modified version of the Red alternates that the Flames had for a few seasons before going back to the throwbacks and, while it's good looking, it's not changed enough to warrant it to be different. If anything, you could say this is what it would look like if Adidas did it.
Overall: 8/10
That's it and that's all. See you guys next week.

Alan H- Calgary Flames
Positives: The devoid of black actually looks really good on this and I think you did a pretty good job balancing out the colors on both jersey.Negatives: The white hem doesn't look that good with the red and yellow. Also, it's really hard to read the name on the back of both jerseys.
Overall: 6.5/10
Alan H- Philadelphia Flyers
Positives: The slight twist on the striping from the 1984-97 jersey set looks pretty good with that addition of the extra black stripe on sleeves and a contrast hem stripe with a black accent at the bottom.Negatives: It would look a lot better if it was rounded instead of an angle but it's not a total loss for me. What is a total loss is your names on the back of the jerseys.
Overall: 7/10
Anthony C- Val-d'Or Foreurs
Positives: The angled striping on the hem is nice and flows well with the sleeve striping. Also, the color balance on the jersey is pretty good.Negatives: The striping is pretty similar to other things you've sent into us on this template. If I'm going to be honest with you, don't expect me to give you any extra points on using this template if you're just going to recycle striping on it. You've come far in your designing but quantity doesn't equal quality.
Overall: 7.5/10
Jets96- Maine Mariners
Positives: Love the prominence of yellow on both jerseys. it really helps both jersey stand out from being Bruins copies. The striping is really simple but it works, especially on this Nike template.Negatives: It has more to do with the template than anything. the collar faux laces on a Nike jersey are all within the yoke. Also, This template makes the nameplate look really small.
Overall: 8.5/10 COTW NOMINEE
Jets96- Utah Grizzlies
Positives: Really like the use of the alternate logo on the front of the jersey. Also, the simple striping works really well on this set.Negatives: The yoke on the green jersey is so similar in color that it just looks muddy. Also, the striping could be a tad thicker.
Overall: 7.5/10
Kevin D- Calgary Flames
Positives: Moving the Alternate shoulder logo onto the front of a red jersey looks really good and, the four equal stripes look pretty good.Negatives: This is, in general, a modified version of the Red alternates that the Flames had for a few seasons before going back to the throwbacks and, while it's good looking, it's not changed enough to warrant it to be different. If anything, you could say this is what it would look like if Adidas did it.
Overall: 8/10
