COTW April 20-26 vote (ends Friday @ Noon EST)
Wheeling Nailers Redesign Contest (Entires Due May 11th @ Noon EST)

On with today's 3 concepts!
----------------------------------------------------------------

Dallas Stars Concepts (By: Adam G.)

One thing I think most people would be happy with would be a Dallas fauxback jersey that honoured their first jerseys upon moving to the desert, seeing as the colour schemes are relatively simple. I'm happy with what Adam has here, basing both jerseys off the original home, but I think there are some changes to be made. For starters I would prefer a full striping pattern over the half one here, especially the isolated silver on the away. That being said I do like it on the home. The numbers on the back are fine but I would have preferred to see something more similar to what they have today. Finally I would liked to see some white on the home outside the numbers, but kept isolated from the silver.

Overall, a solid fauxback set, but nothing groundbreaking and a couple missed chances to update the set. 7/10

Vancouver Canucks Concept (By: Ryan HJC.)

I love what Ryan has done here. Almost everything he has chosen would be in my ideal Canucks alternate based on the Millionaires. The striping is beautiful and I like how it surrounds the numbers similar to Boston's most recent Winter Classic. The colour balancing is really well done and the jersey and socks, and I even can deal with the solid blue gloves and pants. My one gripe comes with the shoulder patches, where I would hav preferred either the stick in rink or the V/Johnny head or the unused VC logo from 2007. Still, this would be highly welcomed

Overall, a near perfect alternate, that would be a must have for any Canucks fan! 10/10 COTW Nom from me!

New York Islanders Concepts (By: Adam G.)

Where to begin. The alternate is beautiful, fantastic, 11/10 COTY win for me. The set on the other hand leaves me with a lot to be desired. Namely the 4 stripe pattern. It isn't bad, and I like how the colours are laid out for the most part, but it's not something I'd ever want the Islanders to wear full time. Furthermore not continuing on to the back was a bad call, as it leaves it very blank. Finally there is the lack of shoulder patches, which hurts all 3 jerseys. That being said I do like how the NY intersecting logo looks on a chest stripe. That being said it is pretty hard to see on the white jersey without a thicker blue outline

Overall, it would be popular with some, but a perfect alternate doesn't carry a mediocre set. 7/10

I'll second Ryan and it's totally not because he's my boss or anything.
