Thursday: Bolts, Avs, & More
Today is the last day for Committee Members to vote for the COTY-May and the COTW. As well, the Super Series vote continues. Here's the list;
The list of blogs is coming together nicely. Hopefully after this weekend you can add a few regulars to the sites that you visit. If you have a blog that you would like included in this weekend's post send it in and you will be on the list.
Notre Dame concepts (by Kevin D.)
I think the striping patterns on all three sweaters are good. The entire alternate jersey I like. Personally, I would rather see a "ND" logo on the front of the other two rather than the whole name. 8/10
Colorado Avalanche concept (by Brandon C.)
The foot logo in the stripe is a good idea, but I think it might better if it was more subtle. Sublimated perhaps? I also miss the typical Avs numbers and NOB. 7/10
Colorado Avalanche concepts (by Thomas L.)
While these are very well executed, I actually think they are worse than what they have now. I'm sure someone likes these, not me though. Again, they are well done though. 6/10
New York Rangers concept (by Tristan)
This looks like the New York "Park Rangers". The chevrons coming up from the hem are cool, but the lighter green spot underneath it isn't needed, in my opinion. I think the arched name with the number would be very cool on the shoulders/arms. 6/10
Winter Classic concepts (by Calem)
Both jerseys are decent, but they need a bit or work. I don't think the chest stripes need to be bent and the front-right yoke piping has not been coloured. The image is a little pixelated. Here's a tip for some who didn't know, when you are resizing or drawing a shape you can hold the SHIFT key and everything will stay proportionate, or your shape will be perfectly square...or round. 6/10
IIHF concepts (by NB14)
All the primary sweaters here are quite good, especially Finland's! I like Canada's and Russia's alternate, but I don't think a US jerseys should be red. 8/10
Mississauga Steelheads concepts (by Brian R.)
The old Sens 3rd jersey is used by too many teams in the CHL, in my opinion. Something new would be better. I think the numbers chosen for this concept are good, but I would like to see some TV numbers. 6/10
Duluth Breakers concepts (by Sam N.)
About a year ago, Sam created this team. Now he has improved his skills and sent in his new version. I really like the hem stripes which fittingly "break". I think the logo is pretty good too. 8/10
Tampa Bay Lightning concepts (by Scott D.)
These are really excellent. This is what Scott would do if he got his hands on the Lightning's jerseys. I think though that the only thing holding them back is the logo that he uses. I would have liked to of seen the new logo. I love the pants stripes! 8/10
Tampa Bay Lightning concept (by Brandon C.)
This is a nice jersey. A couple of things that I would have done differently would be to use a silver outline and no blue on the logo. I would also then use a blue stripe on the collar instead of silver. 7/10
Norfolk Admirals concepts (by Tyler G.)
Tyler has made the home white jersey look more like the road blue, which is what I would like to see this year's Calder Cup champs do. Tyler has also removed the yoke outline and squared them up a bit. I preferred the full yoke, but these still look quite good. 8/10
Brooklyn Islanders concepts (by DC Visual Arts)
The home and road jerseys are okay. The font used for BROOKLYN in the logo just isn't sitting right with me for some reason. Apparently, all you have to do is make the Islanders' 3rd jersey black and white, place BROOKLYN across the chest and it looks awesome! 8/10
Quebec Nordiques concepts (by Brady)
The new Blue Jays' numbers work well with the Nordiques. It's probably the double blue. The jerseys are good, but I would get rid of the fleur de lis in every logo and just keep it on the shoulders. That alternate with just the Q on the front would be awesome! 7/10
UMass Lowell River Hawks concepts (by Kevin D.)
The home and road jerseys are excellent. The alternate jersey looks like a practice jersey or a jersey they would give to those who play exhibition games, but aren't going to make the team. I really would like to see something more on the arms there. Perhaps cuffs, even small cuff trim. 7/10
COTW June 4-10 vote (ends Thursday @ 11:59pm EST)

Scott D. for COTW! I really like the logo and how he incorporated silver. The only change I would make os change the center stipes on the away jersey to blue.
@Brady I really like your Quebec jerseys and how try use 2 blues. I would also get ride of the fleur de lis in the Q logo but make them dark blue in the primary logo. I was wondering what font that "Q" is?
@Justin Thanks, the font for the "Q" is "Algerian"
