Friday: Late Night with HJC
The winner of the May 21-27 COTW vote is Ryan (me). You can see the winning concept on the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK page. The results of the vote are below.
The NYI Relocation votes continues. Committee Members, if you have yet to vote for that be sure to do so before Sunday.
Manchester Monarchs concepts (by Elias)
I really miss the gold trim on these. It's kind of cool that Elias went with the old "Forum Purple" though. I think I prefer the Monarch current unique striping to this. 7/10
St. John Sea Dogs concepts (by Kevin) *Description on concept. 7/10
Edmonton Oilers concept (by Deferoiler)
This one is based on the WHA Alberta Oilers sweater. Not too bad of an idea, but I don't think orange pants with an orange jersey and socks would look great. Also, the primary logo appears to be a bit too big and the hem stripes on the front are not the same thickness as the ones that appear on the back. 6/10
Beauport Harfangs concepts (by Jay V.)
As you can see from Jay's note, this is a former QMJHL team. I like that Jay went outside of the box and tried to do something different. However, I think these jerseys need some thick solid colour stripes to at least break up the other stripes a bit. These definitely have some potential. 7/10
Columbus Blue Jackets concept (by Kirk)
I think hem stripes that match the arms stripes would go a long way to making this concept look a little more "full". I like the idea of using the bug as the primary logo, but he looks like he's holding his breath and has gone blue in the face. I would just make it white. 7/10
Denver Cutthroats concepts (by WinnipegJets96)
For the Cutthroats first season in the CeHL, Jets96 has put them in a nice and classic striped jersey. He's also switched the league over to the Nike Swift jerseys. Here's an execution note, the player numbers should go over top of the tie-down on the back of this jersey. 7/10
New York Islanders concepts (by Stephen T.)
Wow, this is actually quite neat and original! I didn't like the stripes at first glance, but then I took some more time and realized this could really work and it's something new we haven't seen before. Seeing as there are so many stripes on the jerseys, I would have gone with plain blue pants. 8/10
Pittsburgh Penguins concepts (by Dylan A.) *Description on concepts. 9/10
Milwaukee Admirals concepts (by Elias)
These are really excellent jerseys. Milwaukee has some great colours too, so it makes it nice and easy to create a good concept for them. 8/10
Colorado Avalanche concepts (by Matt M.)
Matt offers up this re-design of the Avs, in which he's used classic stripes and removed black from the colour scheme almost completely. Even though these look great and I do really like them, I think I would feel a bit under-whelmed if the Avs released these as new jerseys. There's absolutely nothing wrong with them, I just feel with such great logos that they could do more. 8/10
California Golden Sharks (Will S.)
Will had Ross Taylor's Golden Sharks mash-up logo made into an actual crest. He then placed the crest on a custom re-coloured old Sens 3rd jersey. This looks great when it comes to life!
Val-d'or Foreurs concepts (by Kevin) *Description on concept. 8/10
Ryan - 4
Justin - 3
Kevin - 1
Scott - 1

Will and Ryan, when you hade the jerseys made, did they come from Ice Jerseys' "Jersey Builder" and if so, how much did they cost?
@Ricky: I used Jersey53.ca. It looks like Will used someone different.
Dylan for COTW! great work, only thing I would chnge would be swapping the logos.
Jersey was one I got off Ebay; I removed the crest and shoulder patches that were originally on it (Azure Dynamics).
I made the Golden Sharks crest myself out of tackle twill and then sewed it onto the jersey.
