Tuesday: My Template
So to start off today on a different note than usual. Instead of going right into the concepts like I usually do, I'm going to do a little more work on today's post to make up for my non post last week. Today I will be sharing a video on how to use my template I made of the hang up jersey.Unfortunately you need Photoshop as far as I know. Unless someone knows how to use Photoshop layers and transfer them to Illustrator...if you can even do that. But I will be teaching you how to make a jersey Like this one:
Sorry for the length..but you know, with one take and no editing I'm okay with it. Hopefully it helps.

Might be a lot to watch/ go through but if you want to use the template for those you might have trouble, have fun. Anyways, here are the voting reminders for this week.

Buffalo Sabres Concept - (Darren H.)
Whenever I get a Sabres concept for future artists that do Sabres jerseys, I will be more picky most likely, just because it's my hometown team I really want a team that looks nice. Anyways, Darren goes in a direction that looks clearly different than the way the Sabres are going for their third jersey, and to me, it might be a good thing. It sticks fairly true to the Sabres past jerseys for the striping, with small differences. I still think it's cool that they're going with a gold jersey (I think) and I think it would look good, but I'm still going to find it weird if I see it on the ice. I think there are two things I think could be improved on. The yoke ...outline striping I think should be flipped or similar to the striping on the arms and hems. I think that would look better. Then to match the numbers with that too. I've also never been a fan of the Slug numbers, but that's just me. I'm going to say this in advance but I think I would rather see this than what they are going to unveil. Concept Rating [8.5/10]
Anaheim Ducks Concept - (HockeyConceptIdeas)
Not much to say on this one. Looks like it is a recolored Ducks jersey from the past from nhluniforms.com. I'm going to judge this one more on the idea than the execution. To learn more, look at the Templates page to make your ideas for designs show through better. Changing the Ducks colors to the Mighty Ducks colors with their current logo is something that I'm not a fan of, I just don't think the duck foot doesn't look good with those colors. The white jersey at the hem needs more green, it actually looks pretty decent even though the Ducks never have had the straight hem. The black I think would need more work. Like the back of the jersey, the front needs more white I think or something to brighten it up. It just seems too mashed up and hard to see any of the striping. Interesting, but not my cup of tea for a Ducks jersey set. Concept Rating [6/10]
Dinamo Misk Concept - (Jake88)
Been a very big fan of Jake's work since he's been posting a lot to the site. I know that this (with the Dallas template) looks a lot like a recolored Dallas jersey. I think the creativity isn't at it's fullest, but at the same time, there's only so much you can do with a jersey until it becomes disgusting. He keeps Dinamo very traditional with this set and it looks nice. I always love the double blue, baby blue color scheme. Everything really pops with the white. All in all these are great looking jerseys. Like Dallas, the away's hem striping has a different pattern, and it looks nice. Concept Rating [8/10]
Atlanta Flames Concept - (Michael G.)
COVER YOUR EYES! Bright! I look at these right away and everything seems to pop, and that's a good thing. When I start to go into detail I start to see one big problem. It's not big on the jersey, but for some reason it irritates me. The dark gold in the middle of all the striping on both home and road jerseys just seems out of place for me. I think it you eliminate that and close in the striping together with that space it could look better. Everything else is pretty good. I think for the red jersey I would even put a red stripe in the striping somewhere. I think that would look nice. Concept Rating [8/10]
New Jersey Devils Stadium Series Concept - (Scott M.)
We will finish off today with three Stadium Series Concepts from Scott. Just to add a quick note. I love the presentation of these. Now onto the jersey. I think this is something we see a lot with Devils concepts. A throwback without the green. I think this is one thing I would like to see full time. Maybe even with green. Im just thinking on this one, maybe take the yoke the Devils have now and put that on this, with the white outline still for the yoke. I wonder how that would look. Good jersey I would like to see. Concept Rating [8/10]
New York Islanders Stadium Series Concept
This one is something I thought the Islanders would have announced by now, or would've when they unveiled their black alternates. Hell, this still might be something we see. I think it's something that might look nice. I don't have much to say on this one. An Islanders design with an orange jersey. Simple, clean, and an alternate jersey that sounds right. Concept Rating [7.5/10]
New York Rangers Stadium Series Concept
Woohoo! No vintage white on any of these three! This is sharp. Again, simple design that looks good. I know people might be against the shield being on the jersey for the crest, but honestly I like it, and I'm not sure if it's my screen but the blue on the Shield looks lighter than the ones on the jersey. That's probably just how I'm looking at it though. Concept Rating [8.5/10]
That's it after this long day of concepts. Finally was in no rush to do it so I tried to make the critiques as helpful as possible. A good day of concepts. And I hope for more next week! Have a great Tuesday and rest of the week. This is also the last vacation week I have until College, and I work everyday after this so...my Vacay is done with. Oh well, I have to move on. Adios!

I appreciate your comments! Just an FYI, I used the Rangers' alternate blue for the crest.
Nice video Dylan, I'm def gonna use that trick of using noise on the logo, I've never thought of trying that before. Great job!
