With only two votes to go in 2016 Zack has put himself in a good position to contend for the COTW-December. As we approach the end of the year these I really look forward to the votes more and more.

The COTW nominees for December 16-22 have been listed on the side of the page. Only one concept (Tyler's Blue Jackets concept) was nominated and seconded this week. As per the rules, I can choose any amount of concepts to join in the vote. I have chosen my favourite concept for this past week, Matt G's Skellefteå AIK set. Those signed into a Google account can vote on the side of the page. Votes will be counted up until Friday at noon Eastern time.

We have just started a new competition here on HJC. Please give the writers a break this week and don't send in your entries until January 1. They're not due until January 6 anyways.

The competition is the "Bring Back the Americans Competition". You're bringing back the Americans, but there are a few guidelines and rules to follow, so be sure to check out the COMPETITION tab by clicking it or the banner at the top of the page. Have fun and good luck!

While trying to come up with the 2017 COTW marks I hit a block and can't create anything that is good. If anyone would be willing to take a shot at this please do! This is not an official competition or anything, more just a desperate cry for help.

The first round of the Playoffs for The Season have wrapped up. Unfortunately vote totals were VERY low, with only 12 people casting their vote.This week I have put the poll underneath the COTW poll to try and grab some more votes. Either way, here are the results from the first round...

 

Colorado's victory has given them a bye straight into the Final next week, as they were the highest ranked team heading into the playoffs. Ottawa was the second highest ranked team so they will play as the home team against Amur Khabarovsk. The winner advances to play the Avalanche. Good luck to both teams. The poll is below and votes will be counted up until Friday at noon Eastern time.
