Sunday: Howdy Kids!

If that title doesn't explain my mind set right now I don't know what will. Welcome back to another HJC post everybody. I'm not going to give out any news today because that's something I'll let my colleagues do. However, I do have a request. I'm looking for pics of every number of the islander's fisherman jerseys numbers. If anybody has pictures of the number (cough cough phil) that would be much appreciated.

Hey you guys know what you have to do? No it's not taxes (yet). You have your civic duty to vote for both the COTW-December, COTW as usual, and the votes for the Americans competition. Also, for those of you who have been around here a while know what big competition is coming around the corner. All I can say is be prepared!

COTW-December vote (ends Friday @ noon Eastern)
COTW Dec 30-Jan 5 vote (ends Friday @ noon Eastern)
Americans Top 3 vote (ends Friday @ noon Eastern)

Onto the concepts!

Vaughn R- Toronto Marlies
Positives: The classic "Crown in Maple Leaf" logo looks beautiful on the shoulders, Also, the number only back looks pretty good.
Negatives: The main crest logo is an issue. That "T" is really big and could get in the way of the players. As for the stripping. It would be nice to see a equal blue-to-white ratio on the arms.
Overall: 7.5/10

Brooks F- Swift Current Broncos
Positives: Always really liked the color scheme of the broncos as well as the vintage look of the logos so making this whole uniform set look simple with a modern half sleeve turned out really well. As for the alternate, the green with the modern style yoke looks amazing.
Negatives: Nit picking here. You could go without that white-on-blue for the dark jersey. Also, move the blue stripe to the top of the white and it'll look beautiful.
Overall: 9.5/10 COTW NOMINEE

 Tyler M.S.- Birmingham Bulls
Positives: At first look the jersey is really nice. It represents the Bulls well while giving them a new look for the future. The accent striping on the yokes look good as well.
Negatives: The "Bulls" script doesn't work well on the shoulders like that. It just looks strange. Also, The all royal blue look could be very overpowering on the ice so maybe make a red version of the pants? Just a suggestion.
Overall: 8/10

Tyler M.S.- Boston Bruins
Positives: The striping looks really good on this uniform set. It's simple but effective and after looking at the different arms, the sleeves actually switch the colors and numbers of stripes. Also, it's nice to see the hem stripe go with the bottom
Negatives: No sleeve numbers. That's a mistake I can't look past. Also, the modern style numbers just don't fit the bruins or this jersey well. Make those changes and this will look pretty solid.
Overall: 6/10

That's all the concepts I have this week guys. Have a good rest of the week and I'll talk to you guys next week.
