Sunday: Sweet Home Hockey!
Good afternoon everybody. Happy Mother's Day to any mother's out there. Since we have a lot to cover today, I'm going to skip the part of how the Penguin's fought a hard game against the the Sens but the Sens did a pretty good job yesterday.
I'm here to talk about an email that I received on Friday from a placed called Designs On You from based out of Jasper, Alabama. Owned by Jeremy Hagood, A Alabama University Alumni, he started a project out of his company called "Sweet Home Hockey". Now, I'm sure you guys get the reference to the name, but the idea came from Jeremy's love for hockey and realization that hockey is a sport that needs help to grow in the state. So, Jeremy came up with the "Sweet Home Hockey" project as a way to generate donations towards all the teams that play in Alabama. If you want a one of the t-shirts that he's selling on pre-order right now, click here to buy a shirt. $15 of the money you spend goes to teams in Alabama.
Anyways, we currently have the World Hockey Jersey Competition going on right now as well as the typical COTW voting so get on that.
Onto the Concepts!
Negatives: While I get the sleeve striping is suppose to be a gradient, gradient striping just isn't working with this color. It's not enough of a contrast.
Overall: 7.5/10
Negatives: The straight stripes that you have on the sleeves look out of place on this uniform. It wouldn't be a bad idea to copy the Might Ducks jersey. Also, the numbers look a little high on the sleeves.
Overall: 7.75/10
Negatives: Those TV numbers look a little too low on the sleeves. Otherwise, maybe move the crest logo up a bit.
Overall: 7.75/10
Negatives: The white jersey would have looked better if you made the sleeve stripes match the chest as well as making the outline on the back numbers white.
Overall: 8.25/10
Negatives: This reminds me of the last Olympics jersey that the U.S. wore but better.
Overall: 8.75/10
Negatives: The silver on the white jersey looks out of place.
Overall: 8.25/10
Negatives: The logos on the shoulders look out of place.
Overall: 8.5/10
Negatives: None
Overall: 9.5/10 COTW NOMINEE
Ok everybody that's all I have for you today. Remember to wish all the moms out there a happy Mother's Day and don't be a cheapskate and get a shirt from Jeremy. It's for a good cause. Have a good week everybody and I'll see you guys next week.

Onto the Concepts!
Adam G- Arizona Coyotes
Positives: The black and red sleeves really give the uniform a nice contrast. Also, the numbers look pretty good as well as the numbers.Negatives: While I get the sleeve striping is suppose to be a gradient, gradient striping just isn't working with this color. It's not enough of a contrast.
Overall: 7.5/10
Anthony C- Stouffville Spirit
Positives: Really liking the diagonal striping on the hem with the trojan mask and arched name.Negatives: The straight stripes that you have on the sleeves look out of place on this uniform. It wouldn't be a bad idea to copy the Might Ducks jersey. Also, the numbers look a little high on the sleeves.
Overall: 7.75/10
Anthony C- York Mills
Positives: The traditional striping striping with the white hem and yoke looks pretty good on the jersey overall. Also, the Maple Leaf is a nice touch.Negatives: Those TV numbers look a little too low on the sleeves. Otherwise, maybe move the crest logo up a bit.
Overall: 7.75/10
Dino W- Latvia
Positives: The striping design on the chest and arms is really nice. it's simple but effective and works well with the hem stripe.Negatives: The white jersey would have looked better if you made the sleeve stripes match the chest as well as making the outline on the back numbers white.
Overall: 8.25/10
Jordan R- New York Americans
Positives: The presentation is beautiful Jordan. As for the design, you did a good job of keeping it simple on the dark jersey while doing a little extra on the light. The logo also looks good.jNegatives: This reminds me of the last Olympics jersey that the U.S. wore but better.
Overall: 8.75/10
Lucas D- Dallas Stars
Positives: Adding silver to a jersey set that works pretty well? I'd say that, overall, you pulled it off well on the dark jersey. It gives the dark uniform a little more of a unique design to it. Also, the squared off yoke and green hem looks really good on the white jersey.Negatives: The silver on the white jersey looks out of place.
Overall: 8.25/10
Ryan C- Ottawa Senators
Positives: The logo on the front looks pretty good and slightly copying the Florida Panthers with the chest stripe on the front only turns out pretty good on this jersey.Negatives: The logos on the shoulders look out of place.
Overall: 8.5/10
Ryan C- Tampa Bay Lightning
Positives: This jersey is amazing looking. It's different enough from the Penguins' design to make it it's own and the color combination is perfect. The dominance of black and white with silver and blue as accents is something that needs to be done for the Lightning. Also, those numbers work perfect as a callback to the original numbers.Negatives: None
Overall: 9.5/10 COTW NOMINEE

I'll second Ryan C's Tampa Bay concept for COTW. Great font choice and the Penguins styling works really well with this color scheme. Excellent work, Ryan.
COTW Nom to Dino's Latvia concepts
