Sunday: It's Getting Close!
Hi everybody. I'm talking about Playoff hockey! If you're a college fan like myself and our Tuesday writer then you're already in playoff mentality with the Frozen Four fast approaching. Also, Congrats to Liberty University Flames of Lynchburg, VA and Lakehead University Thunderwolves of Thunder Bay, ON on winning the DI and DII Women's ACHA National Championship.
As I stated last week, there was a bet running between myself and TC and, as obviously gloated about on Friday, I had to pony up due to being on the losing end. On top of getting that shirt for TC, each writer is receiving a limited run Turdburger sticker (it's the unofficial jersey of the HJC writers apparently). Now, I've given the writers the option to either keep the stickers or give them away to our readers so if you truly want the worst jersey ever in Jersey Casual form, start bugging the writers to see if they'll give their sticker up.
Finally, Congrats to Justin B on winning the Season. Don't forget to vote for the COTW and to get your entries in for the color swatch competition!
Ok let's do this!
Positives: This Wanderers/Canadiens hybrid design isn't that bad. It's something that I could see worn as an event jersey by the Canadiens.
Negatives: It's the Wanderers' jersey design with with blue and red. While I appreciate the changes and think that it could work for an event, this would work better with either the Canadiens logo on the front of the jersey or have a Wanderers logo with blue added into it to give it some type of tie in.
Overall: 7/10
Negatives: The hem is really bare and I think adding the sleeve striping to the hem would really improve this design while keeping the focus on the logo. Also, The italicized numbers on the back and sides give the back of the jersey an off-centered look and I think in this case you could get away with not using the numbers from the actual jersey for design sake.
Overall: 7.5/10
Negatives: I've never been a fan of the italicized numbers and you didn't change my mind with them on this design. Also, The laces on the jersey aren't necessary and don't improve the design so get rid of them.
Overall: 8.25/10 COTW NOMINEE!
Ok everybody that's all I got for you this week. Please don't make me beg you to send in more concepts. We love seeing the work you do and all it does is help you improve as a designer! Have a good rest of the week and I'll see you guys next week!

Adam G- Montreal Canadiens

Mitch S- Toronto Blue Jays
Positives: Welcome to HJC Mitch! Being that I'm actually a huge fan of this design from the blue jays, I think you've made the logo work well on the front of the jersey and the Maple Leaves on the shoulders are a great touch. Also, the simple striping really helps the logo stand out. Finally, I give your respect for the Roy Halladay tribute on the back.Negatives: The hem is really bare and I think adding the sleeve striping to the hem would really improve this design while keeping the focus on the logo. Also, The italicized numbers on the back and sides give the back of the jersey an off-centered look and I think in this case you could get away with not using the numbers from the actual jersey for design sake.
Overall: 7.5/10
TC Moore- Calgary Flames
Positives: I love that you brought back the half sleeve design with the angled striping in it. Also, The hem design works well with this and, overall, the design of the jersey flows.Negatives: I've never been a fan of the italicized numbers and you didn't change my mind with them on this design. Also, The laces on the jersey aren't necessary and don't improve the design so get rid of them.
Overall: 8.25/10 COTW NOMINEE!
