WHL Everett Silvertips Unveil Fan Appreciation Jersey

The Everett Silvertips are no strangers to specialty jerseys. For their tenth season in 2012-13 they ditched their usual mountain-hemmed jerseys for Capitals style jerseys, with their bear in a Thrashers style shield. Then this season, following 4 seasons of their usual jerseys they've had in one template or another since 2003-04, the Silvertips followed the Detroit Cougars, with a green and white jersey with a single chest stripe and arm stripes, with an old English E and Western numbers in honour of their 15th anniversary.

Silvertips Twitter previewed the jerseys as an announcement coming later in the day, first tweeted about at 11:20 local time, 2:20 EST.

Earlier today, the Silvertips dropped a video in which this jersey was revealed not to be a new home or alternate, but a fan appreciation jersey for this Friday's game against the Victoria Royals!

This new script swooping under the primary logo was also seen on their previous non-anniversary set that used the 10th anniversary shield logo sans-black instead of their primary bear/mountain logo. This change was made to both the home and road for the 2016-17 season. The numbers on both jerseys will also now match, with a style similar to that of the 1997-2010 Maple Leafs numbers, with a rounded typeface. If anything, these jerseys are similar to the Hershey Bears alternates from 2012-13 with the isolated bear head. A small amount of black is introduced to the jersey above and below the larger green stripe and the collar laces.The striping itself is a mix of the previous and current jerseys, with the solid green stripe, and grey cuffs. It's difficult to tell if these jerseys have the mountain pattern on the bottom, but that is highly unlikely from this angle.

It is still unknown if these jerseys will return next season or if the jerseys will be tweaked or if either of the current jerseys will be kept as an alternate. As for this specialty jersey, they will be handed out after the game through the Jerseys Off Our Back program.
