Sunday: Wave the Warning Flag
Howdy gang. Welcome back to HJC. Thanks to our friend of the show, BPoe, for filling in for me. I became under the weather Saturday morning so I appreciate him stepping up for me.
Anyways, Congrats to all the teams that made it to the Playoffs in the HJC season and I hope you guys sent in some great concepts. Also, don't forget to to Vote for the February vote, the normal COTW, and those great semi-final concepts!
Finally, I promised to have new designs on the Jersey Casual page and, being honest, it seems that it's gotten a little flat recently. Maybe because I haven't talked about it here or maybe because the designs are something you're not into. Well, I've decided to step outside of the Major leagues and reach out to the minors! That's right, my "Minor Series" is up on the website and there might be some design you know and love and some that you might not be familiar with. That said, go take a look!
Ok let's do this!
Negatives: I'd love to see the hurricane flag pattern on these jerseys again. Even doing a sublimated version of it would look beautiful.
Overall: 8.75/10 COTW NOMINEE
Negatives: First, the back of the blue jersey is missing the logos. Second, the color choices on each jersey is questionable, particularly the gray and blue jersey. The gray and white jersey just looks really muted and I would use black as the contrast instead to help it stand out. Also, The font choice on the jersey wasn't the best.
Overall: 6/10
Negatives: Being honest, you almost pulled this off here TC. I just think that the Black as a base and the gray as the secondary really makes a muted look instead of using red.
Overall: 8/10
Ok guys that's all the concepts I have you today. Please send in your concepts. It could be something basic or something you want to try and get our thoughts on. Have a good rest of the week and I'll see your guys next week!

COTW-February vote (ends Friday @ noon ET)
COTW March 2-8 vote (ends Friday @ noon ET)
The Season Semi-Finals vote (ends Friday @ noon ET)
Ok let's do this!
Lucas D- Carolina Hurricanes
Positives: What's nice about this set is that it's simple but not too simple that it's boring, much like the pre-adidas jersey. The color balance on both jersey is on point and the curved striping works great with the logo.Negatives: I'd love to see the hurricane flag pattern on these jerseys again. Even doing a sublimated version of it would look beautiful.
Overall: 8.75/10 COTW NOMINEE
Noah K- DCI All Stars
Positives: What really stands out on these jerseys are the soundwaves on the jerseys meant to represent striping. Also, the colors for the all star game loos really good and the yoke works pretty well on the jerseys.Negatives: First, the back of the blue jersey is missing the logos. Second, the color choices on each jersey is questionable, particularly the gray and blue jersey. The gray and white jersey just looks really muted and I would use black as the contrast instead to help it stand out. Also, The font choice on the jersey wasn't the best.
Overall: 6/10
TC Moore- Carolina Hurricanes
Positives: I like the idea of using gray more prominently for the hurricanes. The simple striping idea works really well with the black and the flag patch is a nice choice for a shoulder patch.Negatives: Being honest, you almost pulled this off here TC. I just think that the Black as a base and the gray as the secondary really makes a muted look instead of using red.
Overall: 8/10
