Sunday: Ohio Bound

Howdy everybody. Steve here with another Sunday post. I had to write this ahead of time as I am visiting family in Ohio all weekend and wouldn't have any time to write.

Keep the Preds' concepts coming. Also, don't forget to VOTE for COTW!

COTW November 9-15 vote (ends Friday at 12pm ET)
Jersey Nerds Podcast (new episode every Tuesday)
Nashville Predators ReDesign (entries due by November 23rd)

Okay let's do this

Alan H- Michigan Wolverines
Positives: Keeping the simple striping and the yoke. The stripe at the edge of the yoke looks really good. Also, the shoulder logos is awesome. I love that it copies the wolverine claw striping on the helmet.
Negatives: My main issues with the concept is the crest logo and the yellow jersey. First, the wolverine inside the block M doesn't work as well as the plain block M or even the arched "MICHIGAN". Second, It feels like you made the yellow jersey as a cop-out to the yellow on white issue and that a white jersey would look much better.
Overall: 7.75/10

Jordan R- Anaheim Ducks
Positives: It's a no brainer to go with the superior set of the 1990's as the primary set (again). Also, the Jade alternate looks great. and keeping the web foot D logo as the shoulder patch is great.
Negatives: We've seen the alternate done so many times and I'd like to see more than just the original jerseys on a modern template. Yes, the fourth is nice but it doesn't take away from the fact that you could make this a more original design.
Overall: 6/10

Justin B- Montreal Canadiens
Positives: The vintage look is great and I love the Montreal Maroons color scheme for the color rush. The phantom chest stripe looks great with the two color logo on the front of the jersey and the equipment really helps the jersey stand out.
Negatives: My only suggestion is to make the socks a single stripe or make the chest stripes slightly thicker.
Overall: 9/10

Mac W- Edmonton Oilers
Positives: While the orange jersey really isn't anything special (besides the logo) the white jersey with the majority of orange is great. Orange and white is a color scheme that works great but isn't used often. Also, I like that primary logo.
Negatives: As with Jordan R- This feels too close to what they wear now/the former Orange alternate that it's not unique enough. Yes, the Oilers have had a consistent design throughout the years but they've made enough changes to have something that you can create a new design from.
Overall: 7/10

Okay everybody that's all I got for ya today. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you this time next week!
