2019 Stadium Series Logos - Penguins & Flyers
The logos that will be stitched onto the 2019 Stadium Series jerseys have been revealed!
The Philadelphia Flyers will host the Pittsburgh Penguins outdoors on February 23rd, 2019 at Lincoln Financial Field. Now we know what the team's logos will look like for that game. Both teams posted 30 second videos across social media on Friday to spread the news.
PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
The Flyers have simplified their logo to a one colour black mark. All outlines have been removed and just the flying P with the puck inside remain. The logo was presented on an orange background which leads to speculation that they will wear an orange jersey for the outdoor game.
PITTSBURGH PENGUINS
The Penguins have also simplified their logo to a one colour mark, all in gold. The classic skating penguin remains unchanged except for the colour being removed in favour of an all gold look. The logo was shown on a black background and naturally jersey nerds will speculate that it's the colour of the jersey as well.
According to both reveals we will have to wait until February to officially see the jerseys. If we're all jumping on the speculation bandwagon, I'll speculate that the jerseys leak before the intended release date.
The simplified logos have me interested because we are lead to believe that there's more to come in this "saga". I expect the jerseys to tell more of the story. Will they be more complex to off-set the basic logos? Will the jerseys also be basic and that is the theme of the game?
