It's A Slow Week

This week has been the quietest week I've seen in a long time when it comes to hockey concepts. Maybe it's the warm weather coming back. Maybe everyone is getting ready for the playoffs and concepts are secondary for them. Maybe it's because baseball is back and with the impending NFL lockout, people might be scrambling to cling to something.

Because of the slow week, Avs ReDesigns have been coming in at a snails pace. Even the snails might say it's slow. Maybe this is your week, if you feel like you're an "underdog" this might be the week to send in a concept and get into the COTW in a couple of weeks.

Votes continue to come in on the Weekly Poll for "Other" as their favourite hockey video game of all time, yet no comments. Feel free to leave a comment or discuss on the Facebook page.

Alright, lets get to the concepts.

Buffalo Sabres concept (by Tex)On Sunday I posted a Sabres concept by Tex. He accidentally sent in the wrong one. I am now posting the one he intended to send.

Columbus Blue Jackets concept (by Mason)Mason altered the new 3rd logo. He's also brought back the blue, red and black colours that were on their pre-Edge 3rd jerseys. I like the jersey here but, I don't think this logo works with it.

Columbus Blue Jackets concept (by Jack)This is a great looking Jackets concept. It reminds me of my favourite Team USA jersey from 2006. The only thing I would do is not use the shoulder patch but, it's still good with it.

Wild Coyotes concept (by Brandon)Brandon fused two teams together to create the Wild Coyotes. I like the use of Minnesota's bear head on the leaping coyote.

Chicago Blackhawks concept (by Ryan)This is a vintage mash-up of sorts. A lot of it is from the 1955-56 jersey but, I moved the secondary logo off of the arms and on to the shoulders. I also used the 1960's logo as opposed to the 1955 logo.

Toronto Maple Leafs concept (by Jack)A great looking jersey based on the 1934 team. It would be awesome to see the Leafs skate out on to outdoor ice wearing these sweaters. They sell the blue version of these in wool as part of the Heritage jersey series by Roger Edwards. My wife bought one 5 or 6 years ago and wears it to many of the games.

Team USA concept (by Tex)I thought I heard rumours about a year or so ago that there was going to be a 2012 World Cup of Hockey. That seems unlikely at this point but, this would be a great USA jersey. I believe that Tex has used baseball's Tuscan font to create this really cool and classic looking wordmark. The old eagle logo on the shoulder really adds a vintage feel to the jersey.
