Week of April 18-24, 2011
Last week's poll asked which of the 8 opening round series you were most looking forward to. 34% of you said Boston vs Montreal. In second was Philly-Buffalo with 23%, followed by Vancouver-Chicago with 19%. In last place with ONE vote was the San Jose-L.A. series. Funny thing is, both Canadian teams appear in the top 3 among HJC voters, yet NBC probably wouldn't touch those series for a Saturday/Sunday broadcast with a ten foot poll.
This week's poll is asking which of the Stanley Cup Final logos in your favourite? Voting is on the right side of the page and will run until Sunday @ 11:59pm EST.I know there have been different variations of these logos and I also excluded the 2008 logo (because it was a one-off) but you get what we're trying to do here. So, vote accordingly.
The Colorado Avalanche ReDesign has finished and the winner is Jim! The results are below.Jim's entry automatically moves into the COTW voting. That voting is on the left side of the page and runs until Thursday @ 11:59pm EST. The nominees can be seen on the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK page. COTY-1st Quarter vote is also still going on. Voting for that continues until Friday @ 11:59pm EST.
Charlestown Chiefs concept (by Brandon)Last week Brandon sent in concepts for Slapshot's Charlestown Chiefs. This week he sent me in a matching white jersey to go with the blue one that he made.
Pittsburgh Penguins concepts (by Stephen)Stephen has taken the fans' spirit and moved it onto the backs of the players with these "Whiteout" jerseys. I think this is a great idea for a fan's special edition jersey, not so much for the players on the ice.
New York Islanders concept (by Jack)I like the use of the lighthouse logo and I think we all know what the 4 stripes on the arms signify. I just think this jersey needs something near the bottom.
New York Rangers concept (by Brian)Sticking with the state of New York, Brian sent in this Rangers Winter Classic concept. I told Brian that I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Rangers wear this on New Year's Day in Philly. I had a very similar opinion which you can see on the 11/12 JERSEY RUMOURS page.
Toronto Maple Leafs concepts (by Scott)It's what they wear now but, with a couple changes. Scott gave them the old blue home sweater and has used the current leaf as a shoulder patch on both. The blue sweater also features a blue shoulder yoke. I like it but, it can't topple the original.

Stephen's Pens whiteout jersey for COTW!
seconed
so SICK of the "vintage" white already!! it's overused, just like the blue on blue on blue on white sweaters we keep seeing!! that being said, the Rangers sweaters have changed little over their 85 years so there's not much to choose from.
why not a NY Americans jersey?
Thirded to the white out jersey, if thirded is even a word?
