That was the final COTW for May. We have four winners and they now come together for the COTW-May vote. Adam's Caps concept, Lucas' Nailers and Atlanta United concepts, and Matt's California concept all face-off in this monthly vote, which is the upper poll on the side of the page. You can choose the winner by logging into a Google account and placing your vote before the noon Eastern deadline on Friday.

The COTW nominees for June 1-7 have also been posted as the lower poll on the side of the page. If you're logged into a Google account you will be able to place a vote up until Friday at noon Eastern. In the vote this week are John's Rangers concept, Anthony's Oshawa concept, and Noah's New Brunswick concept. Good luck to everyone!

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are over which means the HJC Playoff Pool is also over. Matt G. was this year's winner. It was incredibly close right to the end. Surprisingly, only three people managed to score points in the Final. Jet96 and Matt both scored 3 while William scored 1 point. Will's point pushed him to a total of 41 points. It would have been good enough, but Matt guessed that the Capitals would win the Stanley Cup (one of only two people to do so) and scored 3 points for a total of 42. Here are the final standings.

Thanks everyone for playing and look for the pool again next year!

The Pairs Competition is currently ongoing. Entries are due June 22.

Today I wanted to shine some light on a section of your presentation where you can really add some wow factor with something simple. That's the cover page. Most cover pages for the Pairs Competition are plain and white and a bit boring. Perhaps it's a section that's overlooked. I wanted to provide a few examples which demonstrate that you can make an effective cover page with just a little bit of effort.

This is Reebok's cover page for their 2012 catalogue.

...and Adidas' cover page for this past season.

This is what the Flyers used for their 2012 Winter Classic mock-ups.

It can be rather simple to create an effective cover page. If you do put the small amount of effort into it you may push your presentation past the competition.

Coming up on Monday there will be a new Jersey Nerds Podcast released.

We'll be giving our thoughts and reviews on the Washington Capitals Stanley Cup Champions merchandise. I'm sure we'll also get up to our usual goofy banter when I present my Fake or Authentic statements. Be sure to listen on Monday when the new episode comes out. You can catch all new and past episodes anytime on the PODCAST tab at the top of the page.

If you missed it, we also had a story up with a rundown of some of that championship merchandise. You can read it here.
