Sunday: It's really lonely here

Howdy all. Steve here. Thanks to BPoe for filling in for me while I was away on vacation in New York. Anyways, I would like to talk about something before we get into our post today. Now, if you don't want to read it then just go to the lonely concept.

The Ducks unveiled their new third jersey last night which is largely based off of the inaugural "Mighty Ducks of Anaheim" Design. Being a big fan of both the movie franchise and the team since it's beginning (Paul Kariya was my favorite player), I tend to look at the Ducks' use of the Mighty Ducks' logo with Rose tinted glasses. This design, however, has me torn. I love the fact that they brought back the Jade and eggplant but it it's more of the color choices that bring it down for me, as well as the yoke. The yoke in itself is unnecessary and looks out of place. As for the color choices, the black base and eggplant are so close together you have to get really close to tell the two apart. Also, for some reason, the changing of the stick colors from orange to yellow really bother me. Would I still buy the jersey? Probably. Is this in anyway a great mashup of eras? Not really. 7/10.

TC Moore- Oregon Ducks

Positives: Well if you're going commit a cardinal sin why not make it be Oregon University using Adidas? Love that you have the side profile duck logo on the front and the "Oregon O" on the shoulders. The two stripes close to gether work really well and that Throwback Alternate is just awesome in general.

Negatives: Oh TC. You seem to forget that I've covered the actual team's uniforms a while back and, if there's one issue that you can run into easily with oregon, it's the color balance. The balance of yellow on the hem and sleeves on the dark jersey is a little off setting. It's mainly due to the fact that it's "Sunshine Yellow" and not a more rich, darker looking yellow like the Penguins. Other than that you did a pretty good job overall.
Overall: 8/10 COTW NOMINEE
