Sunday: So Hot the Ice Could Melt
Howdy everybody. We've had a lot going on in the hockey world recently between the third jerseys, Guelph rebranding, and John Tavares going to the Maple Leafs. All that and more will be covered on the podcast tomorrow so keep an eye out for it.
Good work to everybody who entered in the Pairs comp. It'll be stiff competition this year. Also, be on the lookout for the Open starting soon so get your concepts ready! Finally, don't forget to vote for COTW!
Okay let's do this!
Negatives: Something tells me that UNC hockey won't be using Adidas anytime soon for hockey jerseys as the Athletics is big on Nike. Also, I would love to see the UNC Argyle design somewhere on the jersey. Finally, the white hem is a little too much white compared to the text.
Overall: 7.75/10
Negatives: My only negatives on the main set is the lack of orange and/or yellow in the jersey itself. try to add some of that in and you have a really nice set. As for the alternate, I have a feeling you were trying to win over our Monday writer with this jersey because I don't understand where a black, orange, and yellow jersey would be coming from. The striping isn't bad it's just the choice of colors compared to the logos.
Overall: 8.5/10
Negatives: Not really a negative but, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe their are rules against modifying the Presidential seal in the United states and, honestly, that could work better as a shoulder patch.
Overall: 8.75/10 COTW NOMINEE
Negatives: One issue with this is the main logo on the front of the jersey. It's too big and requires to be shrunk a bit. As for the designs themselves, your first attempt wasn't that bad but try to be more daring and unique with your design. Right now it's kind of flat and could use some more striping.
Overall: 7/10
Okay everybody that's all I got for today. Thanks for stopping by. Have a good rest of the week and I'll see your guys next week!

Okay let's do this!
Anthony C- North Carolina Tar Heels
Positives: I really like the "Tar Heels" script on the front of the jersey as well as the penguin style stripes on the hem and sleeves. It works really well with the UNC color scheme and the nave base of the jersey.Negatives: Something tells me that UNC hockey won't be using Adidas anytime soon for hockey jerseys as the Athletics is big on Nike. Also, I would love to see the UNC Argyle design somewhere on the jersey. Finally, the white hem is a little too much white compared to the text.
Overall: 7.75/10
Jay S- Orlando Solar Bears
Positives: The main set kind of looks like the alternate that the Solar Bears wore minus the chest stripe but that's not a bad thing. Both the home and road jersey work well with a simple, traditional style look and I think you did a good job of making that work for the most part. As for the alternate jersey, I really like that it's somewhat traditional as well and uses the "Bear Head with Sun" logo on the front.Negatives: My only negatives on the main set is the lack of orange and/or yellow in the jersey itself. try to add some of that in and you have a really nice set. As for the alternate, I have a feeling you were trying to win over our Monday writer with this jersey because I don't understand where a black, orange, and yellow jersey would be coming from. Jordan R- Jackson Presidents
Positives: There's a lot to like about this. The logo looking like the presidential seal to give reference to the City's name, the color combo on both jerseys looks great with that striping, and the name overall is very fitting. Good choices overall here.Negatives: Not really a negative but, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe their are rules against modifying the Presidential seal in the United states and, honestly, that could work better as a shoulder patch.
Overall: 8.75/10 COTW NOMINEE
Libor C- Newfoundland Growlers
Positives: Welcome to HJC Libor. getting into this, your design would work really well with the Growlers current colors and logo. The team is affiliated with the Leafs so I can see the team pulling a traditional style jersey. As for the alternate, I like that you attempted a gold jersey instead of making another black or white jersey.Negatives: One issue with this is the main logo on the front of the jersey. It's too big and requires to be shrunk a bit. As for the designs themselves, your first attempt wasn't that bad but try to be more daring and unique with your design. Right now it's kind of flat and could use some more striping.
