Penguins to Wear "Sronger Than Hate" Patches

After Saturday's shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Squirrel Hill, the Pittsburgh Penguins will be wearing "Stronger Than Hate" patches on their jerseys tonight.

The design of the symbol is a combination of the Star of David and the Penguins logo, and simple, white text below the symbol reads "Stronger Than Hate".

As of what has currently been announced, the patch will be worn on the shoulders for tonight's game only. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game and proceeds will be donated to the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh as well as a fund to support police officers wounded during the attack. The Penguins will also be donating the proceeds from tonight's 50/50 raffle, as well as donations collected at the entrances during tonights game, and an additional $50,000 from the Penguins Foundation.
