Friday: Switcheroo Part Two!
Howdy folks. Steve here. TC had to cover for me on Sunday due to a family emergency so I'm covering his Friday post while he goes to a vaping convention.
With all that said, we've got three pretty solid designs today so, after reminding you about the Devils' redesign top three vote and COTW, let's get down to it!
Game Time!
Positives: It's nice to see the Northeastern "N" logo on both jerseys instead of the husky head and "NORTHEASTERN" above it. Also, the red yoke is a nice addition to the jersey.
Negatives: Between what they currently wear and what you have here, Jack, it's not really that big of a difference. You have the same striping on both jerseys as the current set. Also, your name on the back of the jersey is too high up.
Overall: 5.5/10
Positives: Out of the two jerseys, I feel like you put more time into the Penguins jersey when it came to creativity but both designs play off both iconic symbols from both cities (liberty bell for Philadelphia, City of Pittsburgh crest) and from vintage hockey designs. The text across the flyers jersey is nice with the bell logo on the shoulders. The yellow Penguins' jerseys based off of the Pirates jersey looks really good and using the City crest for the background turned out pretty well.
Negatives: My negatives with the Flyers' jersey is that the script looks really large on the front of the jersey but that's to be expected with scripts. As for the Penguins' jersey, the TV numbers in the crest is a little overkill on the Pittsburgh theme but I like where you were going with it.
Overall: 8.5/10 COTW NOMINEE!
Positives: We finish today's concepts with something from out blog admin, Ryan. The traditional design with the stripe in the yoke and Fleur De Lis' in the hem stripe are nice touches with the vintage color scheme.
Negatives: It would be nice to see a back of the jersey or some representation of it. Also, I feel liek the red accent striping could be a bit thicker because it could be a little hard to see from a distance.
Overall: 7/10
