Monday: UMass, WeConcept

Welcome to the Monday post!

Voting this week is pretty simple! We have COTW, where I take on Nick B's Preds concept and Cole W's Red Deer Rebels I reviewed last week. Poll is on the side of the blog!

This is probably the LAST week for you to get concepts in before the new year, and this your chance at a 2017 COTW win and thus a shot at COTY! For those who don't know how to and have concepts for us, send them to our concept email, that is concepts@hockeyjerseyconcepts.com and depending on how many concepts we have, they will be posted within a week or two!

On with Today's 4 concepts!

UMass Minutemen NCAA Concepts (By: Jack S.)

+ Love the look of the beveled U logo on the chest stripe, stands out really nice!

+ Font choice is excellent, good use of the Oil Drop font

+ Decent execution 

- The stitching on the red jersey has all but disappeared

- NOB is too close to the yoke, and numbers are too small

- TV numbers are too close to the yoke

- Arm strips are too thin

- These jerseys would benefit greatly from a shoulder patch 

- Colour balancing on the road is far off, the red should be where the grey is, yoke should be red, black numbers and silver to accent

Rating: 5/10

New York Islanders Concepts (By: Ryan H.)

+ Nice modernization of the Fisherman look; tying it to the NY log works well, the numbers look amazing now that they aren't on choppy waters

+ Striping isn't something I'd normally like, but it works for this colour scheme

+ Alternate is simple enough and would be the best orange jersey in Islanders history 

+ Great execution

- Would be nice to get more white on the navy jersey 

- Putting a simplified version of the Fisherman numbers on the orange jersey would add some more character to it

- Where is that beautiful lighthouse logo?

New York Islanders Concepts (By: Danny R.)

+ Message for TC, I love that the home and road are black..it looks great, and doesn't look anything like a Flyers jersey, which with orange and white being the other colours 

+ Those numbers on the alternates, one has that solid Brooklyn alternate logo design from the previous black alternate, and the numbers on the orange jersey that resemble the Islanders logo itself

+ Striping on all the jerseys is beautiful 

+ Great execution 

- I would love to se those numbers on the grey alternate on the home and road set 

- Not sure how Phil would feel about completely dropping blue majority of the games of the season

Montréal Canadiens Concept (By: Lucas D.)

+ I have NO idea what jersey this is supposed to be throwing back to, or if this is a fauxback, but I really like this- has a Wanderers feel to it

+ Logo look beautiful, again another fauxback logo, I could imagine it feeling amazing made of felt or pleather 

+ Great execution 

- Some blue would make this more Habs less Howe if you catch my drift, even if it's just in the gear
