Thursday: Frizzle-Frazzled
Seatbelts everyone!
Plenty of things going on here at HJC as the entry phase of our Devils' redesign is wrapping up. On a separate note, keep an eye open for two new series from TC and myself in the coming days. I won't spoil too much about either other than that we'll be unmasking some of the best looks in hockey in two very different ways.
As always we have our COTW vote, but this week had the added bonus of the monthly vote. So head over to the polls on the right and let your voice be heard!

Jack S.- UMass Lowell Riverhawks
The Good:
- Yokes on both jerseys really bring each look together
The Bad:
- Unless there's an underlying reason, I'm not traditionally a fan of miss-matched striping patterns (or logos, for that matter) on a primary set
- UMass Lowell's red and blue are too close of a shade to be used with this much contact. Up close they vibrate and at a distance they blend
- White collars don''t work to well with either look. I'd recommend matching the base color of the yoke
- Name and number font work well with the hawk logo, but not so much with the monogram on the dark
- Adidas logos would work better on both sets if they were white
The Ugly (Execution Issues):
- No concept is complete without equipment
- TV numbers are far too high on the arms and need an outline to properly match those on the back of the jersey
Overall Rating: 4.0/10
The basics are there, but not much else with this concept. Worry not, Jack. Take Risks, Make Mistakes, Get Messy and you'll be right up there with the best HJC has to offer.
Noah K.- Beast Canyon Beasts
The Good:
- Maroon, gold, and white offers up a fantastic and quite underused color pallete
- Gold numbers on all three sets give the look yet another dose of originality
- Off-color NOB looks real nice on all three as well
- Script Logos are well put together
The Bad:
- There's really no place for the darker maroon in my mind. It blends far too much on both the maroon and black jerseys and would do better if replaced with gold in both instances (black equipment would do just as well too)
- Striping pattern is all kinds of basic and something I've seen before from you
The Ugly (Execution Issues):
Overall Rating: 5.0/10
- White jerseys beg for white helmets
- Hem stripe is far to thin on both sets (again)
- Would certainly help to see what equipment you had in mind to accompany the alt
According to my reasearch... Nick takes a step in the right direction, but then a step back by showing us what he already has
Ladies and gentlemen, it seems the COTW Nominations knew they should've stayed home today, so you'll have to wait til at least next week to get one of those out of me. See something you like? Give it a nomination in the comments
