Capitals Go Retro Red
On Monday the Washington Capitals brought back their original red jersey for a third time.
This is the classic red Capitals jersey that the team has used on and off since its debut in 1974.
We last saw this jersey re-released in June of 2015 as an alternate by Reebok.
Almost everything is identical for this year's release, aside from the obvious adjustments that needed to be made to conform to the new Adizero template. The jersey is scheduled to be worn 12 times during the 2018-19 season beginning November 11 versus Arizona.
We truly have entered the era of "Retro For Retro Sake". In the 90's we had "Black for the Sake of Black" and now in similar fashion we are in this retro era. These jerseys are nice, but I'm at the point where I would like to see something new. However because these retro jerseys are nice I would ideally like to see the NHL bring back the vintage jersey program. Have the teams that want to bring back an old jersey enter the program and be permitted to wear it for 4 or less games during the season.
What do you guys think? More retros or enough is enough? Let us know in the comments!

Done with Retro
I want to see some teams take a risk and design unique alternates.
