AHL All-Star Classic Jerseys!
On Friday the AHL revealed what the 4 divisional teams will be wearing at the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic in Utica.
The game will take place on January 29 and each team will be sporting uniforms that have the colours of the Utica Comets or the colours of the AHL.
The hosting Utica Comets are in the North Division and that team will be wearing green jerseys with blue and white stripes.
Also from the Eastern Conference is the Atlantic Division. This division consists of such teams as the Hartford Wolfpack, Providence Bruins, and Hershey Bears. They will be wearing white jerseys with red and blue stripes.
The Western Conference makes up the other two divisions. The Central and the Pacific.
The Central Division will pull on blue jerseys with red and white stripes.
The Pacific Division team will wear red jerseys with blue and white stripes.
As you can see each jersey has the letters AHL splashed across the front. This is done in the same style as the early 2000's AHL All-Star jerseys. Is this considered retro now?
Also to note is the release of CCM's new jersey cut which uses "Quicklite" technology. This jersey seems to be similar to Adidas' Adizero jerseys which use "Climalite" technology. Try not to get them mixed up. All 31 AHL teams will be transitioning to this CCM "Quicklite" jersey cut for the 2018-19 season.
CCM Hockey has told HJC that only AHL teams will be adopting "Quicklite" jerseys for 2018-19. We inquired whether the Canadian Hockey League and the ECHL would follow suit.
The AHL has provided a fantastic write-up and lots of great pictures of these jerseys on their website. All the pictures from this post are from there. View it here.
