Leigh Valley Phantoms Unveil Colour Rush Outdoor Jersey

We've joked about a hockey Colour Rush jersey that mimics the NFL's Thursday Night all colour match ups coming in the near future, however the Leigh Valley Phantoms are the first team to actually make what stye are calling Colour Rush gear. To little fanfare on December 30th, the Phantoms dropped a video where we got a look at hockey Colour Rush.

Now technically this isn't full colour rush, as the gloves are still black, but to expect an AHL team to wear orange gloves for one game is a bit excessive. The jersey, pants and socks are all bright orange. If the striping looks familiar, it's because including the collar, these jerseys are nearly direct copies of the 1992-2007 Maple Leafs striping.

These aren't just one night specialty jerseys, but rather what the Phantoms will be wearing outdoors for the annual AHL Outdoor Classic. You can see what the Hershey Bears will be wearing by reading our story from that unveiling last month.

You'll be able to see both the Bears throwback and Phantoms Colour Rush later this month on January 20th when the Bears & Phantoms take to the outdoor ice at Hersheypark Stadium.
