Monday: Rockies & Flagstaff
Welcome to another Monday post!
So I'm not going to win COTY, it was a good run, but Ryan's 2018 ASG jerseys...I think I would have given them a 10/10 for a reason back in October! Ryan's concept will now have to take on the best of the 2nd quarter in JJ's Germany concept. Meanwhile in the other COTY Semi-Final, Jake's Pittsburgh alternate goes up against Jordan's Sens fix.
Have your say for 2017's best and vote on the side of the blog!
We also have the normal COTW vote for this week, you can find the concepts on the side of the blog and votes are due as they always are: Friday @Noon EST!
We still have the ongoing Semiahoo A1 Minor Hockey Contest. Remember to have your entries in by January 26th (that's THIS Friday) @Noon EST
Here are some of the entires that have come in since last post!
David T.
Brooks F.
Stuart R.
Great stuff! Keep them coming in and please consider watermarking your concepts for this contest!
Finally, there is The Season competition. For those who don't know, there are 24 spots to create a sort of concept league. You can pick a team from ANY league you want, and must design an anonymous concept. Basically, the whole point is that you will match up against another person's anonymous concept; with one of you being the home team and one being the away, where people will vote which of the two they like more.
If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to click on the tab on the side of the blog. You have until the 24th spot is filled to get your entries in. Entries are due THIS Friday at noon EST

Colorado Avalanche Concepts (By: Lucas D.)
+ I think we're all happy with the current Avs jerseys, but this style of striping would have been a solid way for the Avs to go
+ One advantage of this look is the very well balanced colours; that white jersey is near pefect
+ Nice job keeping the current style of numbers
+ Great execution
- No shoulder patches
- While I like the slightly darker navy, I would have preferred the usual burgundy
- The logos on the 2D template are slightly too small
Rating: 8.5/10 COTW Nom from me!
Flagstaff Swarm Concepts (By: Spencer R.)
+ The home and road make excellent use of the side panel design we saw most recently in the 2007-08 All Star jerseys, goes very nicely with the logo
+ Colours are pretty nice, double green is hardly used
+ Alternate is solid, despite it being a template
+ Good execution
- Road collar looks unfinished
- Swap the black and dark green on the road striping to balance the colours perfectly
- Pant striping on the alternate should stop at the waist
Rating: 7/10
