NEWS: Lightning Warmup in Throwbacks

Last night the Tampa Bay Lightning took to the ice in 1992 throwback jerseys...for warmup only.

 

The throwback jerseys themselves were quite accurate complete with proper numbers and NOB font. The jerseys supplied to the players and the 1992-93 team were CCM replicas from the CCM Vintage line, meaning they did not include a tie-down or double elbows.

The inaugural 1992-93 Lightning team was honoured before the game and were also wearing the same jerseys, however as a really nice touch their versions included the 100 years of the Stanley Cup patch.

To accommodate the white throwback jerseys the Blues wore their home jerseys and the Lightning wore their road whites. It seemed to help Tampa as they won the game 2-1.
