Monday: Six Pack of Concepts

Welcome to another Monday post!

This week's voting is pretty simple.

We have the weekly usual COTW vote, Nick's Pens script concept takes on Noah B's Sydney Swans Aussie Rules crossover concept. Noah is looking for his second straight COTW win and 5th of the year, while Nick is looking for his first!

The New York Islanders contest is in its voting phase. It's top 3 format! Check out ALL the entries and pick your 3 favourites. Votes are due Friday!

COTW Nov 17-23 vote (ends Friday @ noon ET)
NYI ReDesign Top 3 vote (ends Friday @ noon ET)

On with today's 6 concepts
----------------------------------------------------------

Tampa Bay Lightning Concepts (By: Nick B.)

+ Simple striping reminds me of the original Lighting jerseys
+ Blue version of the original jersey, while not super original, is something I've never seen before and with the modern logo I think it really works
+ Solid logo choices and bolt pattern on the pants
+ Great execution

- I would have thickened the stripe closest to the tv stripe just a smidge
- Because of the way the yoke is folded over on the template, I can't tell if the yoke is rounded (good) or square (not quite as good)
- Would have been nice to see one of the other Tampa fonts (I like the one from the previous alternate) used on the jersey

Rating: 7.75/10

New York Islanders Concepts (By: Cole W.)

+ Love the orange cuffs on the home jersey that's pure nostalgia for me
+ I like the 1998-2010 colour scheme is brought back, but with a relatively new design
+ Unique sock stripes
+ Great execution

- No shoulder patches make the jersey very bland up on the
- NOB is much too small
- I now know why the Islanders had orange cuffs on the road jersey in the pre edge era, it's really boring with out it!

Rating: 7/10

New York Islanders Concepts (By: Adam G.)

+ Can't say this isn't a unique design for the Islanders
+ I actually like how you attempted to fit grey into the Islanders logo and jerseys, in some cases it work!

- and it others it really doesn't. On the white jersey the grey really works because the jersey is bright and it acts as a nice barrier between the colours and on the arms, on the blue jersey it makes me miss the white more
- NOB is a little bit small
- Primary logo, particularly on the white jersey is much too small and at least from what I can see, they're two different widths. This could be from the different levels of outlines but none the less it is noticeable

Rating: 6.75/10

Bufalo Sabres Winter Classic Concept (By: Avi S.)

+ I mean as a prediction this is nearly spot on. To give you an idea we don't get the concepts until the Sunday or Monday before the previous Monday's concepts are posted (so these concepts were sent last Sunday), long before the unveiling, and besides the collar and numbers it's accurate
+ That being said, the yellow outline on the numbers looks better
+ Ditto for the yoke
+ Flawless execution

- Buffalo's shoulder outline, similar to New Jerseys' green & red jerseys, are unusually thick, and it would have been nice to see that transferred here

Rating: 9/10

New York Rangers Winter Classic Concept (By: Avi S.)

+ The new widely considered fake leak we saw last Wednesday/Thursday is very similar to this, though I much prefer this for a couple reasons (for one it's not a poor photoshop )
+ The collar is gorgeous, working within the constraints of the Adidas template, this looks so much better than any Rangers collar we've seen since better than what we got too
+ Script is centred
+ Good execution

- I understand ditching the yoke stripe, but one thing I would have loved to have seen the NY patch on the front, but again, I can't really call it a negative because no one could have predicted it

Rating: 9/10
