Today the NHL, Adidas, the Ottawa Senators, and Montreal Canadiens revealed the sweaters that will be worn for the NHL 100 Classic to be held in Ottawa on December 16.

The Ottawa Senators' jersey is a red version of their previous alternate. Silver is lined between the broad white and black stripes going across the arms and chest. Within the silver stripe are the years that the old Ottawa Senators won the Stanley Cup. The Senators alternate O logo is also in silver and serves as the primary logo on this jersey.

The Montreal Canadiens revealed a white jersey with red and blue stripes on the arms and hem separated by silver trim. The Canadiens have also placed the years of their Stanley Cup championships in the silver trim. The iconic Canadiens logo has had silver added to it to fit the theme of this game.

Silver is clearly a prevalent theme here for the NHL 100 Classic. Interestingly, the silver anniversary is the 25th anniversary. The NHL will be celebrating 100 years of NHL hockey with this game. What is the symbol for a 100th anniversary? Diamonds! Would have been interesting to see Adidas make some jerseys with diamonds!

As a habs fan I have one thing to say "NOPE."
And as a avid jersey collector and enthusiast I also have something to say "NOPE."
I'm fine with these as a one-off. These aren't that bad, but the silver is overkill.
I was hoping for a more vintage looked at theme but i expected something like this. They are nothing spectacular for a game that should've been treated as so.
Really? The Olympic jerseys are panned as garbage because they aren't a throwback, but bedazzled jerseys seem like a good idea? Let's just slap Affliction or American Fighter sponsorship patches on them
