North of the border, Team Canada has joined Team USA in unveiling their jerseys for the upcoming Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea this upcoming February. Similar to their neighbours to the south, Canada will port gradient on the arms of their jerseys, and for the first time in recent memory, a white maple leaf on a red jersey.

The design running up the arms is meant to replicate that of a maple leaf, in a similar vain of the Team USA jersey's bald eagle chest feather pattern on their arms. The rest of the jersey is relatively as a result, with the exception of the 3D gradient maple leaf primary logo. This primary logo is the first time Team Canada has attempted a 3D logo in any international competition, and the red jersey's white maple leaf is the first red jersey with such a logo since the Canada Cup era red jerseys. The gear will be black as it has been since at least the 1998 Nagano Olympics.
Similar to the 2014 Olympics, a black alternate has also been produced, focusing more on red and white where as previous black jerseys in Torino 2006 and Sochi 2014 had been mainly red and gold logo wise. All three jerseys have the Canadian Olympic logo on the upper left chest, and a metallic bevelled Nike logo on the right.

For fans curious of the quality of the replica jersey crests, up close photos show that recent trends in the NHL and Adidas have continued with Nike, as a plastic crest is being used with details printed on rather than sewn on. The bevelling on the chest is printed on and enhanced by the metallic section; not actually raised. Replica jerseys will not featured the same metallic shine as the authentic jersey, instead a gradient darker shade will be used.
