Sunday: Two Birds to You Know Who!
Hi everybody. Welcome back to HJC. For anybody who doesn't live under a rock, Nike unveiled the Olympic jerseys for this year in South Korea. For anyone who didn't listen to the podcast, Jets described my feelings on those jerseys for me because I was too busy giving those jerseys the one finger salute with each hand into my screen.
Anyways, Don't forget about the six new designs that were added to the Jersey Casual collection as well as the HJC stickers currently for sale! Finally, don't forget to vote for the LA Kings designs (great turnout by the way) and COTW!
Alright let's do this!
Positives: Really like the logo and font choice on the jerseys here. They match perfectly and the "SA" logo works to perfection. Also, I really like the prominence of yellow on both the dark and light jersey, and I'd have to say that the white jersey with the yellow hem and sleeves really works!
Negatives: My only pet peeve about this this whole design is that you have that stripe in the hem that's just a tiny bit off from the edge. The placement is a little bothersome because you have this tiny line of color on the jersey and I feel that it would work if you moved it down a bit.
Overall: 8.75/10 COTW NOMINEE!
Positives: Really dig the nod to the old Leafs half sleeve jerseys of the 80's with the white jersey. It works really well and the half stripe actually looks pretty good on it. Also, keeping it simple was a great choice. With such a nice logo, over the top striping is not required.
Negatives: The dark jersey is where I have issues. That thin stripe on the hem of the flat template looks too thin compared to what what's on the realistic template. Also, the half sleeve design is just annoying on the blue. Sure it would be the current jersey but it would be better than this half stripe thing you have.
Overall: 7.5/10
Positives: What really works with this whole design is the half sleeve with the varying hem striping. It's not too much that it's over abundant but it's not understated either. Also, thanks for getting rid of the Orange. That can be hard to do with a Current Sharks jersey and make it look different.
Negatives: My issues start with under the left arm of the white jersey player. You have a hockey blade under his arm for some reason. Second, it's difficult to see the silver striping within the white on the dark jersey, causing this strange mash of striping that doesn't look as clean as it does on the light jersey.
Overall: 7/10

Brooks F- Team South America

Lucas’s Toronto for COTW, those socks on the South America concept bother me too much to like it.
Thirding Brooks' South America for COTW.
Both Lucas and Brooks' concepts are COTW worthy
